Coming from an iPhone i'm cherishing the fact you can use custom ringtones

You can also use custom notifications. My ringtone is "The Hotdogsladies" from YLND and notification is Vesper's notification tone from CR. (I think it was a stock notification on the SE phones at the time)

Ringer is the CTU ringtone from 24 and the notification ringer is a sonar tone.

I use tone picker and handcent apps from the market. Handcent will let you set contact notificationd as well. You can also set contact ringtones as well. Tone picker will let you use any sound/song on your phone/SD card.

My default ringtone is the final cut by Coheed and Cambria. My girlfriends is plug in baby by Muse. My best friends is skeletons of society by slayer.

My notification tone is the intrusion signal from the transformers movie.
I'm not using any custom notifications right now but I did at one time.

Check out ZEDGE (in the market). You can browse on your PC (much easier) or phone. They have a whole section of notification tones.

They also have ringtones and wallpapers.

as for notifications, i've got a couple of clips from futurama for reminders and emails ("in actual news, the human race was doomed to extinction today as the robot revolt turned violent" and "you've got spam") and one from diablo 2, act 3 town, alkor introduction for text messages ("dammit, i wish you people would just leave me alone")

I'm confused. I used an iPhone for a year and it's very easy to use custom ringtones on one. It's a little more difficult (involves jailbreaking and ssh'ing into your phone and manually editing files) to change notification tones but that's possible as well.

currently im running a old muscle car theme, my ringtone is the exhaust note of a Olds 442 running straight pipes, my notifications tone is a pass by of a supercharged mustang and i change my backgrounds etc accordingly,

I have one for super cars (sequential BOV as notification is awesome) and motorcycles (starter for notifications) as well.

when I am not in the mood for automotive themes I usually use the opening portion of Andrew W.K.-Get ready to die for my ringer and the Ta-Da for notifications.
