Is there a droid music player that remembers where you were in your playlist after the droid is turned off? It's very irritating to have to reshuffle my playlist each time I turn my Droid X on and then have to listen to some of the same songs over and over again.
Hummm, interesting question. But to my knowledge, there isn't. Why would you turn you cell off, anyway? Why not just mute it or put it in airplane mode?
Fellow forumers, I need to know what is the "loudest" music player relative to a Zune/iPod. I recently broke my Zune and living in a suburban neighborhood to go running, it was nice to have it be just a little louder to be above the cars passing me (increased hearing loss notwithstanding). But I've tried Poweramp and PlayerPro so far and they just don't have the volume level that my Zune had. About to try MixZing but I doubt that will work either.
Is the problem perhaps my rooted Incredible on stock 2.2? Is the hardware just not capable of producing dB levels of, say, a Zune/iPod? I saw that MortPlayer has enhanced effects for 2.3. Does that provide the extra software processing boost regardless of hardware?
Just get a decent pair of headphones with some sound isolation. I mow my lawn while listening to my music through my phone. Obviously, I can still hear my mower, but barely
I use Double Twist player when I browse the net. Sometimes it crashes and says that my android device is not supporting the video format, but that I guess is because of the fidelity of my wifi at home. too far away from my bed. Damn, this android phone is not letting me sleep Easy way to watch movies at night!

Suggestion: try amplifying or directing your wi-fi signal to your room or install an extender. Option number 2, if you have a PC or notebook with WiFi closer to your room that the Wireless router, you can install connectify on it, (if it's win vista or 7 at least) and use it as a wireless access point.
Me personally, I got a second router that is connected to the first via ethernet cable, and is getting it's info from the main router via DHCP. That way I am now covered all around the house. When it drops one router, it always picks up on the other.
Suggestion 2, if you can, just copy the videos to local mem card. Or use tubemate to grab them off youtube and then watch locally.

Have you tried Phone Speaker under the preset sounds in PowerAMP? It makes it louder thru the headphones too.

If you can use PowerAMP pro, it can do that. I have the widget on my home screen. I can start off, at the same place in a song, after the phone is off. (I'm not sure if it works the same without the widget.)

Poweramp destroys Playerpro but their is a new kid on the block by the name of Neutron as in Neutron music player. This is the app you all will be wanting it is much louder and powerful than even the great Poweramp. Put it like this be careful not to bust your speakers. Neutron: Power, Precision, Excellence. The best to date. Now in the Android Market. Check it out. You'll thank me later.
Problem:
I have the Evo and recently got the invite to join Google Music Beta, I installed the Music Manager on my Macbook, and also installed the Android File Transfer so I could copy my iTunes library directly to my phone using USB. When I launch the Android File Transfer, it tells me "No Android Device Found." and to please connect using the USB. Well, I have my Evo connected and it's in mass storage mode. I've uninstalled the Android File Transfer app already but it still won't recognize the device as being connected. Any suggestions?

All i want is a very simple music player just for playing files on my phone with a good shuffle and a good and customizable widget since i hardly ever go into the fullscreen. Still have not found one im 100% happy with. Started with songbird but it kept locking up my phone alot, then i tried doubletwist which was a really large app and i widget i didnt like. Now i'm using tunewiki which i know is more a social music app than just a standard player but it seems small enough, shuffles ok and the widget goes with the look of my homescreen so im sticking with it for the time being.

I have a Droid Charge and noticed when I stream with stock player to my car it does not show any track info, yet with a Droid X2 it shows all the ID tage info on the car screen. I assume this is a function of the player? If so are do any of the better players out there stream all the tag info via BT?
It's got many features that no other player has: browsing of album/artist/genre in grid view, download of artist pictures (for the grid view), genre illustrations, support of ratings (embedded in ID3), artist/album reviews, graphic equalizer with bass boost, presets etc.
Also it has plenty of different skins so when I get bored of one, I can change to another.
Recently, the DEV added the support for a video browser. So now I got rid of my video player and only use PlayerPro.
I know I am a 'noob' but I have used video player and have loved it. I also convert my videos before I put them onto my SDCARD. I use VIDEORA iPOD CONVERTER to convert my movie to ipod touch format and they play GREAT on my HTC HERO running CM7. It's also pretty cool because once they are converted their file size is usually reduced by up to 40% so I'm not using that much space on my SDCARD. Anyway that's my two cents worth.... Oh and I'm also a MAC user so I'm not sure if the video converter is on PC or not.

Google's Music Beta with their player and an EQ so far really rock for me. The player could use some small tweaks/features but I'm sure they will get there.
I have almost 10k worth of songs. I'll queue 'em up @ work and play all way without issue so far.
With Music Beta be sure to have an unlimited data plan or use over wifi.

Music Beta is not available in my country. Is there any similer applications?

Anyone else tried this? If so, any thoughts?
There are different things about various players that I like, but nothing has all of what I want. I mainly listen to music in my car, and I don't want to have to unlock and go through five different screens to be able to change albums/folders or switch to shuffle.
One of the things I like about PowerAmp is that it's got two forward buttons on the widget, one to go to the next track, one to go to the next folder. Ideally, I'd love to see a player with that, plus a shuffle button, with Music Beta intergration, a lock screen widget, and customization of appearance (I like pink, I want glowy pink widgets on my phone, and this is Android, dang it, so I should be able to do that). I don't want lots of little extras like music discovery and the like (since I can get that through Music Beta) or little spinny cubes.
In short, I want a player that looks the way I want it to look and can safely perform multiple functions while traveling at 75mph. Six players later, I haven't found one yet. Any suggestions?
With PowerAmp Pro, they have a lock screen widget that works really well. (The widget doesn't have a shuffle button.) I use this in my car dock and since i have an Atrix with the fingerprint scanner, I can unlock my phone easily to access the other functions of the player.

I am looking for a music player that has the screen stay on (not dim) and I can flick to skip songs on shuffle
I want to setup my phone to do music for my car, but the screen always shuts off (or when I set it to stay on when charged it dims)
and can not go trying to reach for a tiny next button while driving so a simple flick is preferred.
hi, I've got the sensation, just wondering how to do this;
on the normal music player you can change tracks/ volume when the phone is on lock screen mode, but how do you do this with poweramp, saves me putting in the lock, then going into poweramp just to change tracks
MixZing has EQ with gain control that works quite well, which I find important to get even close to a good listening experience with compressed audio sources. Can be expanded to 5 frequency bands and has clipping indication by flashing red lines over the frequencies. Won't play Ogg Vorbis files like Winamp mobile but has music ID that works well.

Tried Neutron MP3 on Optimus T very slow to no response, had to abandon. GUI is incredible with multiple EQ settings, will keep trying updates to see if they can streamline to make it work on smaller processors.

Hi, I'm using samsung galaxy ace, looking for free music player that can play m3u file (like when you try a song in amazon.com), any suggestion?
Also looking for alarm that works even when the phone is off..any thoughts?
Thank you.
psound: m3u is a playlist format type. Basically, it is a text file that contains paths to the location of the music on a device and plays them in the order given(unless you engage shuffle or something). Power Amp and I'm sure many other players can play m3u playlist files. In fact, you can build a playlist on your comp and move it to your droid and your music player should pick it automatically. I don't know if amazon plays it's music from an m3u playlist, but it is mp3 once you download it anyway.
Oh, if it wasn't obvious, I am a Power Amp user. I will try that Neutron mentioned though, always looking for the best.
Just bought Samsung Galaxy S 2 which is my third Android device after the iPhone era. have been using PowerAmp all the time and am guite pleased with it.
However, I'm missing the volume leveling function of the iPod. Any idea if there is an Android player that has it?
Edit; by volume leveling I mean a normalizer that evens out the volume of different tracks.

other than poweramp I've tried this and it's great generally but not the best when it comes to bluetooth controls....with the other music players being mentioned what's their bluetooth settings like?
Quick heads up about a major update for PowerAMP, presently in beta!
FINALLY my SGSII can read genre tags properly (previously EVERY player took its tag reading from the systems way of reading tags, resulting in genre tags being messed up which really bugs me as I predominantly like to listen by shuffling a genre! FLAC tags also now work properly).
MixZing ftw!
Fast, Nice Lock Widget, Touch Gestures, Edit Tags, Identify Songs, Lyrics, Album Art downloads, Responds to headset buttons..

this is site but i am not able to play online radio station on android 2.2
Which player will support to play online fm station
Damn, bro! The android market is full of apps that'll stream FM radio stations to your phone. The tricky part is finding one that'll "tune in" to radio stations using the phones built in FM receiver. Or at least one that doesn't use data connections to download stuff. I have one user that has this exact issue. The ROM she is using doesn't have a Radio app. All I can find are online. But she doesn't have a unlimited data plan and even at a lowly 64k, the MB on her plan would be wiped out in now time.
Edit; by volume leveling I mean a normalizer that evens out the volume of different tracks.
If you can't find an app that does this, you can always do what I do...
Since I do some deejaying, I like to run all my songs thru MP3 Gain in order to ensure that all my tracks are leveled and that I shouldn't have to adjust the gain knobs for that very reason. If you were to do this, you wouldn't need to worry about the app needing a built-in normalizer. The default is to 89db; although I set my default to 95db.
Poweramp seems the best so far, since has preamp/gain features that use the hardware (hard to fake the function via software/cpu). Also other audio tasks besides an EQ.
If an audio fan, worth the five bucks. Razr now sounds as good as my iPod 4, which is a good thing.
Hmm...I think PlayerPro sounds better than PowerAmp to me; at least for the music I listen to (mostly electronica). However, I don't like the fact that the "resume play when headphones are plugged in" feature isn't working...which works fine in PowerAmp. I do prefer the interface in PlayerPro...I think it's much cleaner.
