When we get flash for our devices, then the possibility of watching more streamed media becomes a distinct possibility. Until that day happens (and no one knows exactly when) we have to be patient, but on the bright side we can gleefully stick two fingers up in the air to our friends who have I-Phones because they are not getting flash. It's a waiting game I'm afraid, between you, me and a million others

You are welcome, and it is something that is eagerly awaited in the Android community along with cupcake (which is some way off yet) and the new marketplace with paid apps. Everyone is excited about the release of flash, I just wish we could have some formal news of the status.

What are you converting you movies to what format?

I found that downloads from Blackberryreadyvids all work on my Hero i.e. they're already in mp4 format.

I'm using nswplayer to watch the movies.

Anyone know of any other similar sites??

THANK YOU!!! This website is amazing! I am using my HTC Hero to download from it right now, this is awesome.

There was one Samsung Instinct website that had a ton of movies resized, but I can't find the link, will do a little research later to see if I can find and post the link, I don't see why those wouldn't work either!

Do I need to convert this video at all before watching it on my Hero? I went to the site, which is GREAT!, and I downloaded a vid to my laptop. I dragged it onto my Hero (Sprint), but I only get audio. There's no video, only a gray box on the screen. The vid is an mpg4 and plays on my laptop...Am I missing something?

Also, how do you get the files to download directly on your Hero? I tried, but it doesn't work

You should not need to convert the videos from that site. Keep in mind though, that site won't be around forever. It is illegal and I'm willing to bet they get a DMCA takedown notice (or their ISP will) eventually. Might take longer than most file sharing sites though since it's phone specific...

All of the above said, my friend downloaded some of those files and they play fine on his Iphone (same screen size/res/codec as the Hero/Eris uses I believe)...

Thanks for the reply, dmoder! I finally did figure out that the one movie I was trying to d/l had a bad link. It wasn't anything I did wrong I've got a few, and I even did manage to d/l right to my Hero!! Yes!!

well you can like someone said always convert, but if you rather stream from the net there are a few ways. Ofcourse the youtube is a small one, but if your in a wifi area say in your house there is a program that makes the droid able to read your computer as a server! the program is called gmote.

Gmote > Android Remote

So when trying to get movies and tv shows from the blackberryreadyvids site and it takes you to a megauploads site. Once I get to the point of clicking download I get an invalid file type when downloading. Cant seem to get past this on any link I try.

I am doing this on a moto droid with default browser.

Rockplayer for playing videos, and megavideo beta to download whatever may be on the megavideo site... Works pretty well so far, they just need the ability to search what is on megavideo.

In that case, it also means the movie cannot be downloaded fm PC to phone so that can watch from phone?

sorry i'm new!

The only issues on Ace may be Flash Player related content.
You can still transfer videos in different formats (mp4, avi, mkv, etc) and play them on the phone. Just note that mp4 is the standard format, and for others you need universal player application.

You can't find the Flash Player, because it is not compatible with Ace.

Just go to Market and download RockPlayer or Moboplayer. These applications should be able to play most of the video content on your phone.
