Default Problem with apps on sd card

So I moved all my apps to my micro sd card a while back, anticipating getting a new phone. They were all read just fine on my old phone. Then I got a new phone yesterday, put my card in it, and none of the apps on my card showed up anywhere. So I put the card back in my old phone and they suddenly didn't show up there either, except in the manage apps menu. But the don't show up like they should. They show up like "com.android.flashlight" and things like that. And where the app icon should be is just a gray icon of an sd card. Any ideas on what is up???

Option 1) put the old card back and move all apps back to internal storage, and only then use the new card.
Option 2) copy the contents of the old card to PC and then back to new card. Then put the new card in the phone.

When you move the apps to SD card, you are actually moving only part of the apps.

Correct. Many people think that will save their apps to the sd card, and it doesnt. All that does is move the "cache/data" to the sd card, the app is still on the phone. And this cannot be transferred to another phone.
