Default DLNA or UPNP app?

I bought a netgear Stora this week and set it up on my home network. I have a DLNA app that came with my phone called allshare. It seems pretty good, it has a built in video player that plays most files.

However I came across an avi file that would not play with it. I copied the avi to my phone memory and used mobo player to play it and it works.

My problem is that the allshare app only lets you use the built in app and not an external app. I tried a few Upnp apps that let you use external players but none of them seem to work very well (some avi's dont load to the player but if I copy them to the phone they play fine?).

What is the best app to use?
