I must be really stupid or blind but I cannot find the settings that allow you to control what program is opened when you insert the headphone jack.

Can someone direct me?

I am using the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play on the latest system software (updated yesterday). Not rooted.

Doesnt Sony have that preinstalled? Something called Livewire or Liveware, I think. AFAIK its a separate app, not something in the settings menu.

Yea, I know Tasker can do this, I'm not sure if i've seen any phones that do this out of the box.

Every time i plug headphones in it opens the standard music player. I'm sure i remember to setting to choose which program opened when i plugged them in though.

I am now using PlayerPro and it is really annoying when i plug my headphones in the the standard player opens.

I would suggest looking through the menu options of the apps your using. Usually the settings allow you to determine if said app opens on headphone insertion. Take a look in the standard player options to see it this is an option. If so, unselect it.
