Default Music on PC through Android

What I am looking for is a mobile windows media player through which I will be able to operate music.
There is no monitor connected on the PC/server! PC is just a music libary.

Got some 25.000 mp3's with good tags in folders (per artist/cd)

All runs at one wifi network.
What I have tried so far:
Gmote: through folders you can select a CD.
Cons: No playlist through Android, geen CD pictures, can't turn off PC, search only though folders (and that's a long list), connection instable.
Unified remote: worthless (you can turn off PC), very unstable
Homemedia/WMP remote
pros: CD picture, artiest picture (very funny),
Cons: slowwww can't handle the large MP3 collection, unstable, music doesn't go on, no playlist through Android, no easy search, no turn of PC/server.

Any suggestions?

I suppose it's going to depend on where you want the music to output.

As an example I run a headless server as well with my library cataloged in iTunes. With that I can run Remote for iTunes on my android device and control anything iTunes on the server can. The output is then through the server speakers & also two Airport Express units hooked into two AV receivers in my house.

If you wanted the music to stream to the device itself from the server, there are a few ways to do that too. One way I use is via Audiogalaxy (I've tried others and this setup works best for me). This also allows for full control (playlists, browsing etc) of the library on the server.

You also mention shutting down the server. For that you need to remote into the server. I use RealVNC, but there are many other RDP/VNC clients out there in the Market.

Good luck...hth.

If you switched to winamp you could use winanp remote. Or what I have done in the past is used a wifi keyboard program (mobile mouse) and used hot keys.

Like Teamviewer, free for personal use.

I have everything in WMP with tags so I'm looking for a remote for WMP.
No steaming to device. My PC is connected to amplifier (with Creative Sound card). Don't like itunes.

Does teamviewer gives a good browse function through music and is it fast?

How can you browse to music with hotkeys. How can you see the CD's?

Winamp you can only sync CD's to device. I have 150GB of music.
I want to leave it on the PC en just remotely control it.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I stream my itunes library to my Android devices using Audiogalaxy. It also brings over your itunes playlists. I've been using it for about a year.

That's no option.
I want to leave it on PC and just use android as remote.
My PC needs to play the music.
I want to browse artist, CD, genre, etc. and make a playlist to play by adding numbers.

Teamviewer is RDP software. It let's you operate your PC from any other PC, Mac, Linux, iOS or Android device as if you were sitting in front of it (your PC, that is). So with Teamviewer you will really be using your PC's browser and other functionalities. Is that fast enough? Add an almost imperceptible delay for the remote signal (over WiFi).

But why don't you try for yourself if Teamviewer is what you need? It's free for personal use, after all.

Teamviewer works wherever (in the world) you have an internet connection.
A Bluetooth alternative to operate the mediaplayer on your PC remotely – limited to 20/30 feet max – is the free "Bluetooth Remote PC" app.

But there are more Bluetooth remote apps here: https://market.android.com/search?q=bluetooth+remote&so=1&c=apps.

Yes. It's in my previous post if you care to read less selectively. It's simple, it's specifically for using your Android device as a remote to your PC playing media, and it's direct = not via WiFi/internet.

I got no bluetooth and those apps still need a PC monitor to be turned on.
I just want to browse through my music collection on my Android. Select by artist, cd, genre and make a playlist.

Tried teamviewer. It is oke but will just operate my PC desktop. Musci is still hard to do with WMP.

You should give this a try. I've have never used it, but it seems like it does a lot of what you're looking for. I'm not sure if media center is required.
