Default Music Player that will recognise Micro SD?? PLEASE HELP!!

Hi all,

I am tearing my hair out trying to get music players on my Samsung Galaxy S2 recognise the 32gb mirco sd card I have purchased.

Here are the steps I've taken so far:

- Inserted the SD card, which is being picked up by the phone. (Storage setting shows 29.71gb total and 22.18gb available).

- I plugged my samsung into my computer with the usb cable in the mass storage mode. I moved the media folder and the music folder across to the micro sd card from the usb storage. The micro sd card shows up as a seperate external drive on my computer.

- Aswell as the 'stock' music player I have downloaded Cubed (was using this before my internal storage ran out and was loving it) Winamp and Power Amp.

- None of these are picking up the music on the sd card. All are showing no music available now. Cubed shows only 'Internal' or 'External' options. The 'external' option is the USB storage. Power Amp lets you pick the folder you want it look at but there is no sign of the micro sd card folders.

So this is where i turn to you lot for help.

Does anyone know of a music player that will pick up the music on my micro sd card?

Is there a way to get my existing players to pick it up?

Any help massively appreicated.

I just want to store and listen to music on my phone.

Did not think this would be so difficult.

Cheers

It sounds like you need to have the phone search for your media. I think there's a way to tell it to search for media, but for some reason I can't find out where it is. You can get it to search, though, by rebooting your phone. Let it complete the boot-up procedure and see if your music is available.

Sorry to sound stupid but how do you re-boot the phone? Just turn it off and on again? If so I have done this a few times.

I also got the SDrescan app that makes the phone do a media scan.

It is still not picking it up.

Just an idea, but go into menu > settings > SD Card > Unmount SD card. Then remount it. SOMETIMES this does the trick better than resetting or using an SD card app.... IDK, just shooting in the dark.

Try to reboot your mobilephone, or insert your SD card again. If you can check the files in SD card with file explorer, that means you take the music in wrong folder.

Thanks everyone for your help but I figured it out last night

I had put the 'Music' and 'Media' folders in the 'Android Secure' folder.

I was trying everything last night after I moved the media folders out of this folder the phone picked up the music files straightaway.

I don't know what the 'Android Secure' folder is but as a warning to everyone else - it hides stuff!

Thanks
