Hi all
Is there an app that will allow me change songs with volume keys, without waking up the phone.

I know I can use the buttons on the headphones or bluetooth but I want to use the phone's buttons while connected to the car stereo and not have to wake the phone and look at it.

Rooted or paid for is fine

CyanogenMod-based ROMs do this, although it hasn't been working well on the one I'm running now.

Can also use a button remapper to map (Media) Next Track to any button you like. I have used the Search button since I never use it for search. This one:

is about $1 and requires root. I use it on ROMs that don't have built-in remapping.

Astro Player has this feature. A long press on the up or down vol. goes up or down your current playlist.
