Default How do I play DVDs

Anyone got any idea on how I copy DVDs to play on my tablet?
I've copied the files to my PC and then to the video folder on my tablet, but it says it can't play them.
I've checked by playing on the PC and they play on that.
Any ideas or do I need to look into the technical area a bit more, and venture into the mysterious world of codecs etc.

Thanks & Happy New Year.

It's an Archos 70, so I'm pretty sure it can play movies, but I wanted to be able to watch my DVDs (obviously copying the files to the tablet) rather than having to re-buy something that I already own.

Use MoboPlayer. It can play all video formats in your tablet.
Moboplayer is a free application that you can install from Android Market.

Use Handbrake, rip and encode DVDs to the appropriate format for your tablet.

I don't own a tablet but I have riped my DVD collection to play on my Atrix 4G, using a DVD riper. It converts the video to a playable format for multiple devices. Find out what formats video playback has to be in order to play back on your devive. I use "Leawo DVD Ripper"
