An Android tablet will never be a good enough replacement for a laptop. Personally the only reason for a tablet is that its easier to read books and stuff on it for extended periods of time compared to a laptop. Thing is, just think of this way. You have an Android Tablet, and an Apple iPod. Apple hates Android, and Steve vowed to do everything in his power to kill Android. Basically iPods and Androids don't mix well together.
If your EeePad has a tether function, you can probably use that as a hotspot and connect your iPod to that to access the cloud storage. Apart from that, I think you're stuck.
