Audio still coming out of speaker with headphone jack plugged in.

I did some searching but have not found an answer to my issue. When I have my headphones plugged in, my notification sounds keep playing through the speaker on the back of my phone. Someone told me it was a general bug in Android that has not seemed big enough to be addressed. Is this the case? It gets real annoying to my coworkers every time I get an email. I would shut the volume off but I tend to miss important info if I do.

If it matters, I am running 4.0.04 on a Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket.

I hope you get answers that explain how this happens - as your "issue" is exactly what I WANT to do with media sound!!!

Well, when i had galaxy s i experiences the same problem, but it was about not inserting the headphones correctly to the phone, i mean when i pushed further it inserted completely and then the problem would solve
