I just got my first android tablet, and I noticed first thing out of the box that youtube, when on HD, has like 3 frames per second. The audio is really off, but it all fixes if I just turn HD off. I have ice cream sandwich 4.0 running, 8gb storage (EMMC), 512mb ram (LPDDR2), WLAN: 802.11
CPU: MTK 6575 1GHz,
Display: 7" 1024x600
Brand: Lenovo ideatab
I checked my apps running and it said around 120mb free of ram.
Is there a way to fix this lag? Also, if it's important, the video I watched was gangnam style, and a few other music videos. The weird thing is that I can run 3D apps with no lag, but also Tap Tap revolution lags like hell also.

Is this a defective tablet? Should I return it?

How are you viewing YouTube, using the browser with Flash or the YouTube app? If the former, try using the YT app instead.

Mind you this is a rather basic specced tablet, MediaTek single core 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM. 3D apps probably will run, provided they're not too heavy.
