Notsure Networked Media Player on ICS

Just get a tablet with ICS, want to know if it's possible via any apps or settings to play media from my networked storage drive. Storage drive is always on and would like it so when media app is opened it automatically connects to the networked storage location and displays all music and videos.
I have had a play with a few (can't remember which) now uninstalled as these just seem to look for media in the default location and won't let me specify a location on the network such as...
\\wdbackup\public\music
I'm new this this so thought it may be quick to post it on this forum rather than going around in circles.
All help greatly appreciated.
