Default Why are photos on SD card "read only"?

Switching from Blackberry, I simply put that MMC card into my Android phone. I can see photos and play music, but it won't let me use photos for contacts.....said they are read only. Do I need to reformat that card? Would I do that within the phone? Then can I copy my old photos back to the card?

Welcome to Android Forums pvdiamon!

Here are some troubleshooting steps for removing write protection on your mmc:

Formatting the card is the last step to try. If the other options do not work, I would suggest backing up all the card data to your PC before formatting. Hope this helps!
