Question Go Sms Pro 5.0 sms help with individual tones

PLEASE... someone out there help me; I downloaded Go SMS Pro 5.0 and cannot figure out how to set individual text tones.

I have contacted the developer but they just give me the steps for the older versions that had an area that popped up when you long pressed on the thread to set text tone for that person, however the new version only has the side bar with nothing, like settings, I can see to allow for setting the individual tones????

Please is there anyone out there that can provide me step by step instructions on how to achieve this goal I am using the HTC V One through Virgin Mobile if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance

This is for version 5.1. I'm assuming 5.0 is similar, if not the same. Hope it helps!

Menu > Settings > Advanced > Individual Settings > Add > Select the contact > Tap OK

That will bring you a screen that allows you to set tones, vibration and LED settings (if your phone supports it) for that contact

also, when I say menu, I mean you should press your phone's menu button.

Default Still lost, so sorry.. further help?

So, when I hit my phone's menu button and then the settings - a display comes up with the following options: Airplane mode;wifi;bluetooth;3g;personalize;accts sync;loction;security;privacy;accessibility;displa y;sound;call;apps;storage;power;keyboard/language;connect to pc

None of these options (which I went into each) have an advanced settings area? Am I in the wrong area to be finding the Advanced Settings?? I am assuming also, when you said from the menu button on my phone that would be from the home screen correct? Or am I to be somewhere else before I hit the menu button.

so sorry I just got this phone and thus the updated gosms and confusion. Plus I'm not smartphone savvy

thanks

You'll want to be in Go SMS Pro before hitting the menu button.

Talking

Eureka I got it !!! Thank you. It seems with the Virgin Mobile HTC One V, the phone is factory set so that when you tap the menu button (when in another program) it gives you a list of the most recent apps you've visited. However, if you LONG PRESS THE MENU BUTTON then the settings pop up and you can then do the advanced settings, individual notifications and set them. A little help from kind ole you, a whole lot of patience and research and we have solved this mystery. :-)

Thanks, gingersnapgirl and MrsGiraffe. I was going a bit crazy on this one.

Just to reiterate for anyone else who is stuck; you need to be in Go SMS (e.g. the "Messages" view) and then use the Android "menu" button.

In some cases (e.g. if you have an HTC phone that doesn't have a menu button, and you've just for example switched to an OS option that doesn't show the three dot menu prompt) it won't be very obvious that there is a menu or how to access it.

But once you press a menu button just follow your nose as per the previous posts.

If you are using CyanogenMod you can go into (Android) Settings -> Buttons, and check the box to turn on the three dots, or assign "menu" to one of the hardware buttons.

Phew. There's a discussion about this issue here; https://plus.google.com/+CyanogenMod/posts/SYYtrcJJPza

Cheers
Craig
