You can manually install it. Right now its available for nexus one only. But other phones which are eligible will get it soon. Just rebooting phone after installing final update.. boot animation is so fast.. its crazy.

So is it safe to say that FRF85B is the final build?

Hoping for a quick release on Desire but Google bringing it out officially on Nexus One is a good sign that it is coming to HTC sooner rather than later!

Either way, no its out, won't be long until custom ROM's are made even if HTC do stall over the release i guess

Angry Android 2.2 for Desire

I emailed HTC to ask when this would be available and got this today:

Dear Paul, Thank you for your enquiry about HTC Desire, We are working closely with Google and our other partners to ensure we have the earliest access to everything we need to provide a complete and solid HTC Sense experience on Froyo. We expect to release all updates in the second half of this year but can't be more specific yet. Best regards

Sounds like its a long way off and no idea when it will be finished!!! I wonder if the HTC Project Managers just tell their bosses "it'll be finished in the next 6 months I guess"?

Not impressed...where are the rooting guides?
