With all the new devices coming out it still appears that the G1, Nexus One, and Droid are still the most community supported phones.

The G1 has been out forever and still gets shown froyo love from the community. What is the next big developer phone that will see as much community support as the phones listed above? I'd hate to bite off into a new phone only to find out it ends up like the Devour or the Eris Been down that road before ...

The next stock Android phone, I should imagine, as a lot of devs don't like proprietary UIs.

There'll always be a developer phone, in any case. Google needs to test OS updates and such on something, after all.
