My son works at a Verizon store and he said they already have boxes of Droid 2 phones in the store. They still have not given the employees the official release date however. But we all know it is August 12th! Hooray!

i wish they would let the original droid owners upgrade for cheap, that would be nice.

They want to push people to the Droid 2.Who believes they can have a new phone running a stable build of Froyo but they can't seem to do anything right with Froyo for the Original Droid and Droid X.All ready they keep pushing it back for the Original Droid to big surprise 8-12 the day the Droid 2 launches.

Yea, how does the Droid, Droid X and Droid 2 differ? other then screen size.

The Droid 2 will be the first Android device to launch with Froyo.
Comes with a redesigned slide out keyboard.
Droid2 processor is IDENTICAL to the one found in the Droid X.
Droid 2 comes with 8GB internal storage, comes with an 8GB sd card...
Droid X comes with 8GB internal and comes with a 16GB sd card...

D2 camera is 5 megapixels, DX camera is 8 megapixels with HDMI output.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I had been researching the droidx for a while, but this was the first I'd heard about a redesigned droid 2.
