Because it's the Motorola Droid, and R2-D2 is a Droid, and Motorola has to pay Lucasfilms to use the name anyways.
Anyways, Star Wars...meh.... Definitely do not care about this special edition in the slightest. Not really into Star Wars, it's old and busted. Still haven't bothered to even see Episodes 2 or 3, Episode 1 pissed me off too much, and all the extra CGI crap they added to the originals just showed what a money-grubbing whore Lucas is.
