Resistive screens would most likely be fine in a corporate environment. I've been using a stylus on smartphones now for the last 7 or so years. It's really not that big a deal.
For the consumer market, however, people don't want to have to carry a stylus. And for the youth of today it's really easy for them to type with their thumbs and now to swype.
Different markets require different tools...
