Motorola just dropped possibly the most impressive press conference of CES yet right on us, but they did one better by opening up their line of new Android handsets for some hands-on time with the writhing masses. Of course we snapped up some video for your viewing pleasure — which will follow below — but [...]
Well I've had my eye on this for a while but didn't know all this awesomeness was to be included. It was a nice run captivate and parting is such sweet sorrow. This is possibly one of the greatest things Ive ever seen concerning a super smart phone.

Please. It's a great phone. The Atrix, that is. Got some nice features, but is hardly anything to get excited about over the Captivate.
Hmm after reading that, add noise cancellation, FM Radio and ships with a 1900 mAh battery. And the phone can basically turn into a netbook with that dock it has.
One doesnt appreciate noise cancellation until they have a phone that has it. And that Nvidia is lending a helping hand for developing games for the Tegra 2 phones.

Well Captivate is "last gen" now. Better to compare it to the Samsung Infuse, or better yet the upcoming Galaxy S 2 which will likely be dual core as well.
Double the RAM, I think I read somewhere Android doesn't use 1Gb RAM yet. Or if it does it probably only sort of does. So it's not like a real doubling that will effect anything, more like a kind of nice side feature.
Higher screen res is ok, but the Captivate/Infuse have SupeAmoled which is much better, but you neglected that...

Pretty sure I've read somewhere the Captivate has noise cancellation, and the netbook dock thing is stupid to me. If you need a netbook or laptop what possible situation is the dock an advantage in? It's not easier to carry than a dedicated netbook, it's much less featured (heck Anandtech said browsing was fairly slow on it)...I just dont get the advantage unless you dont already own a laptop, which rules out 90% of us... plus they will charge who knows how much extra for it. Who knows the dock will probably cost the same as a regular netbook by itself.
Edit: found this on google onn a Captivate review:

Call quality was decent, with exceptionally good noise cancellation thanks to the Audience voice-processing chip (the same one used in the Google Nexus One)
Yeah, I forgot Captivate has a dedicated voice processing chip that is supposed to be super nice that other phones dont. In fact Froyo ROMS for captivate actually dont activate this chip (because they are cobbled together from other phone ROMs) which has been an issue, but proves it's good.

Yea, u right the Captivate has noise cancellation. I was just going by that link that was posted. (which normally from that site is 70%-80% inaccurate, even when correct specs are revealed after the phone comes out lol)
You really think 90% of us have netbooks, laptops? And it weighs less than a netbook, thinner than a netbook. I would assume those 2 things make it easier to carry around. The price of the dock, yea if its the same it would probably make sense to just get a netbook.
The Amoled, Super Amoled vs. LCD thing....there is no much better screen than the other. Both have their pros n cons. The Infuse has Super Amoled Plus. Thats another story, its supposed to help with the Pentile Matrix issue some ppl dont like with Amoleds. That Matrix is one reason I dont like Amoleds. The "vibrant" colors are another.
