Will the multi touch also work on the on screen keyboard? So you can type faster?

Delayed. It was never supposed to be out this soon.

why? the droid is still great on 2.0.1 and the update will hit at some point.

Plus you could always root and load a custom ROM which rocks. its not hard anymore with the zips and guides people have posted for us.

I don't want to void my warranty on my phone, besides I'm just a regular phone user not really into trying to hack anything. I have no experience with that. I'm still trying to decide whether I should get a Droid or wait for the next gen so this update will let me know if they're going to advance the Droid more.

Agree! Just do the SholesMod the new 2.1 for the droid will most likely be a dumbed down version. Verizon got a hold of it. With sholes you can pick what you want from the 2.1 and delete the programs like Amazon and such you dont use. We REALLY do not need to wait for Verizon to release updates anymore. Open source so the mod versions will be better. Verizon Rapes them and takes forever to release.
