I can't think of any reason why that would be happening. Could you post a screenshot so we can take a look at it?

I have heard of this problem before, but I haven't seen a fix. Personally, I'm using ChompSMS and the widget links to that just fine.

The only solution that someone else found was removing the stock messaging app with Titanium Backup (for root access only).

Whoa... don't know about that one! I didn't touch the app at all. Only changed the .png's. Try reinstalling the original one again and see if it does the same thing.

My favorite part about this whole thing is that it got me to buy widget locker, and I found out that I can still have the htc animated weather on my screen without having to mount the stock clock widget. I've been looking for some way to do this forever:

and now that I've seen those great 50's inspired widgets, I want to start scouring the interwebs for cool retro ads and start this whole process over again. wheee

If you mean his first screenshot, I believe that is his lockscreen replacement: WidgetLocker - Paid App (he noted this in his post), which is a highly customizable program.

Basically, you can put any widget (except stock ones- like Sense widgets) on the lockscreen as well as customize (or make invisible) unlock sliders and buttons. You can also hide the notification bar and apply a custom wallpaper to the lockscreen. Definitely worth the two-bucks if you want to have great control and customization of your lockscreen.

Hope this helps!

Sorry I didn't get around to making the icons you were looking for. I spent about an hour last night looking for images and was a bit burnt out and coming up blank.

Looks good, though! Thanks for posting!

Default Great Screens

Mickey,

If my phone look like this I would not stop looking at it. Anyway you can post these widgets or icons. I could use some of these on my phone. This thread is the greatest.

Thanks!

I put all of them up on imageshack plus a few others, the only ones missing are for my dock graphics, will do that tonight after work--> ImageShack Album - 39 images

The widgets are....

"Minimalistic Text" for the date, battery and weather. Minimalistic Text - Android app on AppBrain

"OneSeven" for the days of the week. OneSeven - Android app on AppBrain

The toggle switches for bluetooth, gps and such are from Android apps by CurveFish

Default Clickable folders with Windows 7 Icon

I currently have the Windows 7 theme on my Evo and I absolutely love it! It looks nice and clean=)

I was wondering how you can set an icon to open a folder containing all my games?

Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Desktop visualizer will do the trick. Long press your screen to set the position of the icon. Tap it and then choose the icon touse . Then choose the application for it to open. Click OK

Ooops . If you are linking to a folder you will have to choose OTHER when choosing an action and then pick your game folder.

What gwcaton said. I personally like the look of Simi Folder when you open the folder.

When I choose OTHER I don't see an option for a folder...I even browsed through the activities menu=/

Sorry if I'm missing something obvious! haha

If you dont have it already you will need to download Folder Organizer. Make your game folder using it . Then when you do the long touch on the screen and go thru that you will get a "Folder Organizer Folder Link " option. choose it , then your game folder .

The lite version will work

Half of these are from paulmz's original posts (mostly because I couldn't find anything I liked any better.) The others are my own. Many thanks for the great how to's and other misc. guides, as well as the research put into getting the sizes just right. Considering my non existent skill using PS (I used Gimp instead), I'm fairly satisfied with how they turned out. Dock icons also my own.

I've kinda happy with my layout for the time being all except for the calendar, cant find one I like. Could you tell me what the one above is please?

Then I just need to finally work out how to post the screens (using a guide but having problems) and then alls good.

I just wanted to say, this thread is absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend gave me an android phone for christmas and thanks to this thread it's now looking very cool indeed!

I did wonder though, I know the sizes are for Launcher Pro with 5 rows, but I seem to be having some issues with Launcher Pro - it freezes up and has to be force stopped manually - so I'm a bit hesitant to use it as my default launcher... I don't suppose you know the pixel sizes for the icons when using the 4 row default launcher (The phone is a Nexus S with a 480x800 screen)? I looked through the thread but didn't spot them!

As an offering and an extra thank you, here are some icons I made using the sizes in the first post for a 5 row screen

(I couldn't quite decide which mail picture I liked better!)

The calendar is the widget included with LauncherPro.

Rosewood:

I apologize but I never figured out the dimensions for Desktop Visualizer widgets using a stock launcher. With the Nexus S being a Samsung, I really don't have any idea how to relate whatever launcher it's using to anything else we have done here.

The only thing I can offer is this-- download these .png images:

Then place them inside varying sizes of Desktop Visualizer widgets all over the homescreen kind of like this:
.

Post or PM me a full-sized screenshot and I can try to figure out the widget dimensions from that.

Hope this helps.

Is it? OK cheers.

I seem to have no options to customise it though and mine looks slightly different to the one posted.

I guess I'm missing something?

Paulmz... What do you use to create your lockscreen shown in the first post? Widgetlocker? Great thread, thank you very much.

Thank you so much, that's so kind of you to help like that! I took a few screens with the widgets arranged in a few ways since I couldn't get it exactly like your example, I hope this has what you need (Linking rather than posting them inline since they're quite big and not too interesting)

it is a modified version of the Launcher Plus calendar widget, as he says at the bottom of his post:

you have to save a backup of your paid version of LPP so that is will save your license, uninstall LPP from your phone, download the APK from the above link to your SD card, and then reinstall LPP with the APK on your phone. You will then have that cool looking calendar. However, be aware that any widgets currently on your homescreens will be lost during the process, so you will have to reapply your theme. I think that calendar is worth it, though, as the default LPP widget is kinda ugly...

ps btmojo could you share that dock, please?

The only pre-made theme I have ever found is this: Windows Phone Android. I just didn't like how it functioned. Seemed to only be an app drawer that would send links to the homescreen as blue box icons. Didn't scroll or have live widgets like the actual windows phone.

The theme here does take some work, but it's highly customizable and always growing and advancing.

snownrock:

Yes, it is WidgetLocker along with Beautiful Widgets for the clock using the "Debossed" home and weather skins that I made.

Hope this helps!

Been messing around with making the Windows tiles look glossy. Work in progress. Excuse the pop-up watermark.

So I am starting this whole process.
My first step was to download the Blue widgets.
I chose to download the Android7 Widgets for 480x854 Resolution (resized by Curt941)
I am currently using the Samsung Epic Galaxy S. All the widgets work and are the correct size except the messaging widget which come on my screen way smaller. I first downloaded the Android7 Widgets for 480x800 Resolution(Solid color "Living Tile" type widgets) and deleted them when they were to small.. How do I get my messaging widgets to be the same size. Thanks for help in advance.

Curt941 found out this problem a while ago and it's posted a few pages back. When you place the widget make sure you check the "Hide Icon Label" box.

Hope this helps!
