Thanks. The pics from the links on page 1 download from dropbox are clear, but the ones on pages 19 & 20 from imageshack are blurry. And the link for dropbox on page 20 download, but opens with nothing. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

1. When in the "Android Forums" app and browsing the "Android7 Theme" thread, press on the image that you want to download.
2. When the ImageShack page loads, long-press on the image and select "Save Image".
3. Press "OK" on the "Save as:" dialog box.
4. Done.
If you don't have it set already, it would probably be a good idea to set your browser to save all of the image downloads to a specific folder (rather than the standard "downloads" folder) on the phone memory (if possible).
Hope this helps.

I posted a reply to this yesterday but it didn't show up.
The only images I see for download on page 20 are these:
I download them just fine and they look just as I made them.
There are no images available for download on page 19 that I can see.
Also, the only Dropbox link I see on page 20 is for the MyriadPro font, which also downloads just fine.
If I missed something, please post a link to the posts which you are referring or post a reply or private message to the person who posted the images you are having problems with.

I read AWD launcher is not up to date... is it a good idea to use it?
(I'm using an HTC Incredible S with Android 2.3.3 btw, if that makes a difference)

I couldn't really say. I am using ADWLauncher EX on my Incredible right now. The stupid thing force closes at least once a day but, other than that, it is a great launcher.
It's not a big deal to change launchers. If you want to test one out and switch between launchers, download something like:
Thanks so much for all your hard work and great inspiration. Your lockscreen post got me hooked on making new setups for my phone.
I saw resolution parameters for 320x480 resolution, and sizes for adw ex without notification and dock. Do you have anything available for both those conditions? I'm trying adw ex sans dock and top bar on lg optimus v. I tried the config tool for dekstop visualizer, but like you, had no mentioned in an earlier post, I also go no read out.
Also, this might have been clear and I simply misread: the figures for 320x480 for launcherpro...will those work without the notification bar showing? Like you, I'm starting to wonder at the fc's on adw ex.
Thanks, MP

MP, I just shut down my computer for the night and am off to bed, but I'll look into this tomorrow.
the ADW Launcher app drawer is lagging ... a lot. Anyone else have this problem?
I am not having that problem, no. I haven't gone into the non-EX version yet, but are there settings for different styles of app drawer? Or maybe turn off the "Animated Drawer" option?
I'm using ADW Launcher EX and I just tried turning off that option, but it doesn't improve. Could it be that the standard HTC Sense launcher is still running in the background or something?
Also... when I zoom out to show all home screens I can't do anything anymore. All that works is the home button.

Did you try turning off the 'new sense preview' option? Helped a lot for me.

No worries, thanks in advance. Oh, and forgot to post my measuring screen for you:
Have a good night.
So I just took a look at your screenshot and the vertical ones are not adding up. Let's make sure that your ADW settings are correct: under "Screen Preferences"-> "Advanced settings" make sure that "Auto Stretch" is selected. This is the only thing I can think of why the height measurements aren't jiving.
Also, don't save those red and yellow bars by right-clicking on them. Those are only thumbnails. If you left-click on each one, it will link to ImageShack so you can download the full-sized test png's.
Post another screen shot after and I'll take another look at it.

Thanks for your help. Sorry about the auto sizing, you were right about that.
So I used the original pngs...and the 1x1 red would not show up. I suppose my device is so low res that it wouldn't register, not even on a white wallpaper. So I widgened (but didn't lengthen) the red line for the 1x1 seen below.
Edit: I took off the screen indicator at the top - don't want or need it. Maybe that will explain earlier vert distortion.

Okay, as strange as it seems, the widget image dimensions for 4-columns/6-rows without notification bar or dock are exactly the same as the 4-column/5-row with dock and notification bar.
So, building off of the original dimensions for a device with a 320 x 480 resolution, here are the pixel dimensions for Desktop Visualizer widgets using ADW Launcher set to 4-columns/6-rows with the dock and notification bar turned off:

DISCO! Thanks so much.
Just because I'm overly curious: is there a set of calculations for determining what happens with additional rows/columns? I think you mentioned 10px between widgets earlier, but I wasn't sure if that only applied to 4/6 layout.
Now I go play, thanks for all your hard work.

No... there isn't a formula of calculations for figuring out dimensions. It's actually just placing some sample images (the red and yellow bars) that automatically adjust to the maximum size and then getting the pixel dimensions from Photoshop.
Most devices do have a 10-pixel gap between widgets. I believe that your device, however, has a 6-pixel gap. I don't know if this helps at all.

Are you sure it won't work? I have my Adobe Creative Suite 4 loaded on a Windows XP Media Center 32-bit and a Windows 7 64-bit. Photoshop is a bit touchy but it should come with both a 32-bit and 64-bit version. On my system, there are actually two different Photoshop application icons: one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit.
Also, you can run most applications as 32-bit in 64-bit by running it in "XP mode" (right-click the app, open "properties", then "compatibility" and check the box for "XP").
Did you try the adw update from yesterday? Fixed a lot of lag I was having (even if it did seem to break ADW notifications). Plus....no dock. Yeah, do dock. But if LauncherPro disappeared the dock, I'd probably go back to that. Definitely more stable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought this thread was about Launcher 7 themes and screenshots and junk? I haven't seen anything Launcher 7 related in a while? Just thought I'd put that out there!!! Have a nice day!!!!

This thread here that has been created by Paulmz is not about Launcher 7.
Some of the graphics are the same but Android Phone 7 Theme is a theme and Launcher 7 is a launcher so it is different.
Some of the graphics do work with Launcher 7 but the theme here in this thread called Android Phone 7 is more versatile in my opinion...just my two cents of course.

BTW: If you (or anyone else here) could point me in the direction of a tutorial for using apk manager4.9, I would be so grateful. The youtube video on the xda forum page one was just half a notch over my head...I need apk editing/signing for idiots. The only thing I'm really interested in is adding custom backgrounds to some apk's from the theming forums on xda. Thanks!

The new update from yesterday did help a lot. And the desktop loop works a lot better than the old one... almost seamless.
But I do agree... if LauncherPro added the ability to hide the dock and homescreen swipe gestures I would probably switch back to it.

Your icons and layout look awesome. I love the time/date/weather on the marquee. Great job! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see the rest of your screens when they're done.

I could tell you... but it looks like you already did that. Otherwise, how did you do the notification bubbles on the mail and text icons as well as the battery one? And what about the play/pause/etc. buttons?
Anyway, I wrote a bit of a tutorial on using APK manager here:

Thanks for the tutorial link. Actually, I do need it for some other things I haven't figured out. I think I've gone as far as corel, trial and error, non-rooted and zero programming knowledge can take me.
The bubbles on the mail/phone/sms are your themed sms count widgets with different pics attached in the data/com.kanokgems.smswidget file.
The battery is a widgetsoid2x toggle with a custom image as the background - but I had to make the images with 2 pixel transparent (or black) borders to line up with the dv tiles. Some trial and error to get the tiles to line up, but once you find out the border size needed for your particular resolution, you can apply it to a ton of toggles, shortcuts, etc. BTW: I bought the pro version, and it force closed constantly, no probs with fre version at all. This one's not done, but everything here is a widgetsoid toggle.
The music buttons are media keys shortcuts (on the market free) with customized images via desktop visualizer.
So yeah, need to learn how to re-skin for other widgets like pandora, astrid, calendar, etc.
Off to attempt learning android adk and signing for dummies. Thanks very much for your work.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm a graphics guy and not a code guy. Otherwise I would be writing apps that would do this without having to reskin someone else's apps.

Cool, I didn't even think of ever using different sized tiles/images for SMS Unread.
I also did a ton of trial-and-error to get a lot of these things to work. There were a couple other apps (like the Hotspot Toggle) that needed a transparent border around the image as well to get them to size correctly.

Thanks for the info on the Media Keys app. I know that Widgetsoid does music buttons, too, but I didn't like them once I made them.

I've changed the Pandora widget before... but I only changed the background:
I just haven't found a good way of doing images for the background if they use a 9-patch png. That type usually just has to be a basic shape that can be resized without distorting.
Again, good work. Thanks for sharing.
PS: Oh, and how did you do the time/date/etc. on the marquee? Is it a background swap or did you overlay widgets?

The marquee is a diff wallpaper for that screen - this app, free on market. The widget is minimalistic text, and I think the font is true type market deco - looking forward to an update on min text when padding is a lot easier than fidgeting with extra lines of static text blanks.
Your tutorial for reskinning widgets did the trick, thanks much for the simplified lowdown - that xda forum is full of fascinating info that sails straight over the top of my head. Love the embossed themes, might use the pandora on my next tile page. Forgot about the png issue. I just asked a widget guru over at xda if it's possible to resize or customize the background to line up with my other tiles - probably a vain attempt. Oh well, I'll just make a diff wallpaper for that screen, use transparent widget. I will say that the multi wallpaper app can lag an awful lot at times, one of the reason I love the widget tiles concept so much. -MP
