How do i edit the way my keyboard looks without installing better keyborad/perfect keyboard etc

I have CM7 with GO Launcher Pro eX if that helps

Is there any reason why you dont want to just download keyboard and be done with it? Its easier.

I dont think the default keyboard supports customizing without editing the actual file so... good luck.

It's best not to edit or remove original OS files because the next update will most likely fail. Better to leave original files/apps as they are and use addons to acheive you desired customizations. I learned this the hard way by removing a stock app, then I had to search high and low for the correct version to replace it before I could install the update. Whatever you do, make sure to backup the original files.
