That didn't go as planned. I think we need to try this a different way.
Can yu pleae try and make it so that its wider, leaving the main picture in the center and adding the cream color to the sides?
Thank you

finally.....its only take like two days messing bout with widgets and apps and new launchers etc...but I THINK I have a setup now for that tiled wallpaper beamy...

I give you three links...one of the desktop how it is, one of a mockup I did to show the layout and one of the non sized FULL wallpaper so you can work on it directly..

Home screen layout

mockup home screen

wallpaper

EDIT: I have made a far better version now to the above 'mockup' that im actually running on the phone now...but I do feel it can be done FAR better...so im waiting to see how much better yours is over mine lol...also mine took bout 20 minutes of cutting and pasting then 'buttonizing' to hide the bad edges lol I REALLY was just looking to mock something up rather than a finished article..

http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x334/deanshep85/snap20110613_025619.jpg

oh...and I gave you another link back from the Desire homescreen thread

OK Dean, see what this does for you. I chose a slightly different background that's a little clearer, but if you really wanted the one you linked, let me know.

its definitely clearer than my attempt thats for sure..

the only changes needed are the far left and far right hand sides of the 'tiles' need to be a little wider as the outside edge widgets are JUST on the edge and you lose the effect...

also the 'media' style widget with music, games and media in, the right hand side of that widget needs to be widened a little as well as the media icon just overlaps it a little...also im guessing the weather widget one will need to be stretched to fit with it as well

when I click I get it saying nothings there?

EDIT: nevermind...its working now lol now to check how it looks..

EDIT 2: oh yeaaaaaaaaaa MUCH better than mine....I mean I liked the 'kinda' 3D button effect I put it...but that was really to hide the bad edges because I'd basically put lines round ALL the widgets/icons then copy pasted sections of the original wallpaper over the top of them...so the edges were bad hence my effect on it...

but damn beamy you done it again...much more professional style looking one...and I liked how you grouped the travel and office icons in the bottom right corner...guessing you did that because too many little square tiles were looking a little out of place? least thats how I see it..

yea seems we were both quick on the draw tonight :P

but seriously, you are good with this eyebeam...like I said mine was 'passable' but your version was so much cleaner and just more well done..

I will say that this was the biggest and most ANNOYING as a bitch set up to do...spent the last 2 days (well not 2 WHOLE days lol) messing bout mostly with calendar widgets...because im running a 6x5 size screen with no dock, some calendar widgets were coming out WAY too small in resolution etc...but luckily after alot of trial and error found "Smooth calendar"...as well as the awesome "Message Centre Plus" which really changes up the notifications alot...yea I could of used the normal ADW notifications but wanted something different and after using MCP trial I thought sod it and bought it...and I dont often buy many apps I just use the free ones..

so yea...thanks again beamy the ONLY changes I will probably make on this for a while are just changing the actual background itself, not the tile effect but just the metal look or colour etc...but thats not for at LEAST 3 days

Hey man, I have 2 wallpapers I'd like to change the colors on. If you have the time and can that would be awesome, if not no biggie. Thanks for helping everyone out, very nice of you.

This wallpaper I would like to change the brown color to blue (see below for shade of blue):

And this wallpaper I would like to change the green to blue (see below for shade of blue):

This is the shade of blue I would like (kinda like a tealish blue... you can see it better below the wifi switch):

Argh! I did the same ones as T2 before I read down far enough to see that he'd already done them. Nice job, and Thanks T2!

Anyway, since I did 'em too I might as well post them since they are a little different, and, well, I stupidly did them.

My photographer buddy took a few of these today. I think they're pretty badass so I thought I'd share. Oh yeah, we got NO rain?

I'll see what I can do, but 1 of those is pretty small, and 2 others are small and in the wrong aspect ratio, so I'm not sure how good the results will be. Give me a bit here and check back.

Alright LSXMMA, I got these 2 to look acceptable. The other 2 were just too small to work with, and I couldn't find larger versions either. Sorry. But hey, if this was baseball. batting .500 is pretty damn good, right?

Can anyone make me a Dachshund wallpaper? Anything to do with dachshunds! I have a mytouch 4g. Oh yeah im a girl so something cute maybe?

I thought it would be funny to have a silhouette of a dachshund and have it say "Ask me about my wiener" lol. Like take this black doxie, color it purple and have it on a pink background? Idk something like that.

Hi doxie - Sure, I think I can whip up something like that for you. And great description of what you want. That makes things much easier for me. I should have something done for you by this evening, at the latest. Check back.

Alright doxie, let me know if this is what you had in mind. I've got to tell you though, going straight from the MMA ones to this kinda made my head hurt!

To save it in full 960x800 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email it to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment. If your phone wont save it full size, or it looks fuzzy, download and save it with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version to your phone.

Could you do something combining the two of these?

I have a Thunderbolt, and I use wallpaper centering app so that it doesnt scroll. I prefer darker colors, as I try to match my whole theme. I also use the Darkhorse theme for my phone ontop of the Future world theme for GOLauncher.

Sure, I can do something for ya. From your post, I assume you want something fairly simple, right?

One question before I get started - I'm not sure how the app you're using handles the non-scrolling wallpaper. So, do you want it 960x800 (normal wallpaper size) withe the logos centered, or 480x800?

Get back to me and I should have it done sometime later today/tonight.

Yeah, nothing crazy. Pretty much half and half. You could merge the two or however you want. I have it set at the stock 480/800 with no scroll. Thanks dude. I appreciate it. Take your time though, I wont have my phone back till at the very earliest Monday.

Sweet, just realized this was post 500. Im officially a senior member. haha.

To save it in full 960x800 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email it to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment. If your phone wont save it full size, or it looks fuzzy, download and save it with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version to your phone.

eyebeam, could you help me out with these two please?

I know it probably just requires resizing and a little cropping but I hope it is not too boring for you.

It is for my Nook Color but I do not want them sized for scrolling. I will set my NC to not scroll the wallpaper. I would appreciate it!

First up is Medea by Evelyn De Morgan

Next is a Barry Windsor Smith painting that I do not know the name of but is a Pre-Ralphaelite imitation.

Sure, no prob at all. Hope I got the size right for the Nook color. Here ya go -

IMPORTANT!
To save these in full 600x1024 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email them to an address accessible on your Nook, then save the attachment. If the Nook wont save 'em full size, or they look fuzzy, download and save them with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version(s) to your Nook.

Thanks a lot! These are wonderfull. By the way the Nook Color seems to want to crop pictures to be the proper ratio for scrolling even when you select not to scroll the wallpaper in settings. To get around this I found a great app called Wallpaper Wizardrii if anyone else has this problem with their NC.

You're welcome. Glad you got them to work. If I had known that that's how the NC handled it, I would have centered the same pics on a full size Nook wallpaper (I'm pretty sure then you wouldn't have to crop them for a single screen, right?). But, you found a good solution and I'll file it away for future reference. Thanks for letting me know.

Ha! Yeah, I guess those are getting a little long in the tooth now. And it's fitting that you used that one for about a minute, about the same amount of time Chad was good!

I thought about doing another series, especially now that it's looking a little hopeful that we'll actually have football this year, but it was a lot of work for not much (as far as I know) use. Maybe I'll make one template one and let people know it can be adapted to other teams.

Well, being a Dolphins fan, I can say that Cameron Wake would be my first choice. Dudes a BEAST. Currently my favorite player. Other candidates would be Jake Long, Koa Misi, Devonne Bess, Richie Incognito, or you could alwayys go with old faithfuls like Marino, the Mark brothers, Bryan Cox, Zach Thomas, or Surtain. But whatever you do, dont ever put that traitor dance boy in Phins colors. lol. By that I obviously mean Jason Taylor. :-P

Ok, so I'm still confused here: Do you want a Jason Taylor one or not? JK. If I did another Phins one, yeah, it'd probably be Wake.

I actually thought a lot about doing ones featuring team greats, but finding quality, hi-res pics of the old timers, even hall of famers, proved to be a lot more difficult than I thought. That put the brakes on that idea pretty quickly.

Eyebeam...is there any chance you can just change the background on the set-up you did for me?

as in maybe no the dark steel texture but maybe some lighter metal or something? I want to keep the exact same layout...just the darkness of it and the metal is kinda grating on me a lil..

You do like to keep me hopping, eh Dean? ()

Alright, that's actually pretty easily done since I have the basic template already made. Do you want all metal ones, or other textures as well? I'll see what I can come up with a little later on. Stay tuned...

To all: To download the images I post at Picasa in full sized resolution, Enlarge on the screen with the magnifying glass in the upper left or use the download button. EDIT: I just noticed this issue. I tried to save one of these on Eyebette's Moment, and her browser wouldn't save it in full resolution. This is not a problem on my Hero. So, if your phone wont save it full size, and/or it looks fuzzy, download it with a computer, and USB or email it to your phone. You can also use the "Share" button on the page to email it to yourself.

You just want the flames one re-tinted? You quoted 3 of 'em, but the other 2, I doubt there's much I can do there color wise. I'd guess that wouldn't be a problem, although I haven't tried and sometimes they do unexpected things when I mess with them - we'll see. I take it you'd want that as a whole wallpaper?

Edit: Something like, say, this?

Hi cammy - Welcome to AF and congrats on the new phone.

OK, here's the deal: I'm a pretty big wisea$$, so since you're new, I should warn you about asking me to surprise you. My wife did that once and it went something like this -

NSFW ↓

OK, not really - That vid just cracks me up.

Anyway, can you give me something to go on? Anything? Maybe look through the albums of what I've done and at least let me know of a style you might like?

Yeah like that. Thats sick. As far as the other two I quoted;
The cracked wall: Change the white to black and red to blue
The veiny one: Switch the grey to blue? Now that I look over it again I dont think that will work. haha.

I use the 480x800 still, so these actually look like they might fit perfect. No need to resize.
