Wow Eyebeam, these are really good. Great for someone like me that is still new to Android and hesitant to try anything beyond the default home (though custom themes do look cool).

You do need some more girly themes though Maybe purple and green with a female droid. And maybe a little girl droid too! The little one with a yellow bow. Ya, that would be cute

Yeah, the girly looking ones are not easy for me. Tell ya what - I'll tell the Mrs. what you've asked for and have her help me whip one up for you. Plus, I'll need her help with the colors - I'm somewhat colorblind. She KNOWS girly wallpapers, and she liked getting her first thanks for the Harry Potter one!

Hey, I was wondering if one of you guys could make a sweet wallpaper for me using my school's logo, the Purdue P.

Alright then. I finally came up with something I think works for this one. I was kind of blocked on a background for this one, so I asked dbgrigg if he could come up with one that would look good, so that may still be coming as well. Either way, my apologies to him if he wasted any time. I couldn't decide if the left edge of the logo should be visable or not, so 2 versions. Let's see what you think...

Purdue Alt version Android Wallpaper

edit: BTW, as per your request this is sized in the correct aspect ratio for your widescreen monitor. I set it as my home desktop wallpaper in this resolution, and it looks pretty darn good if I do say so. If you need me to up the resolution to 1980x1200, just let me know.

Dude, that is AWESOME! That's exactly what I was picturing and I love the safety hat you have him holding! That's also another Purdue thing. ^^

I love the gunmetal crisscrossy background thing you got going on too (I don't really know the name for that). Perfect choice as it relays the type of industry school that Purdue is (even though I'm in their Lib Arts department, lol).

The alternative wallpaper's definitely nicer IMHO however, I'm not too in love with the two P's next to him. I was wondering if you could remove the two P's and then have that glowing golden light emanate from behind the train and then trail off to the sides and become smaller? I don't know how that'll look...may even end up looking worse with all the empty space around it. If it's not too much trouble, of course.

Otherwise, great work man and I couldn't have done it better meself.

Yeah, I was going for a metalic look of some sort, being the Boilermakers and all. It's called diamond plate, for future reference. I liked the alt version better too. So, no "Ps", eh? Do you still want the swirly metal plates behind the "Ps"? I'll see what I can do with the rest of what you asked for. Empty space could indeed become an issue. I'll see how it goes when I start playing with it. Or, we'll see if dbgrigg sends me anything better. Check back later tonight or tomorrow.

Yeah, I think the swirly plates gotta go too unless you wanna put more Android guys in their stead maybe holding a Purdue flag up? Though that might be too cluttery.

Though, what I was envisioning in my post was a completely removal of the plates and the P's and just having the Purdue train emerging from a golden light kind of effect with the light streams only dispersing straight to sides because I don't want to cover too much of the diamond plate BG.

Right then, here we go. Let's see if this is more what you had in mind. I just couldn't leave that much open real estate, hence the bolts. If you really don't want them I could possibly be talked out of it, but you're paying for an OCD therapist then!

If you've found one you want to use, then crop it (if necessary) to the right aspect ratio then size it to the right resolution. 960x854 I believe. To avoid distorting the image, the easiest way to do this, is to pick either height or width, size that to the right resolution while preserving the original proportions, then crop the other until you get to the correct size. Hope this helps.

Looks good. Thank you for not putting it in the thread full size. That screws withe the thread continuity. When magnified, yes it shows up as 960x800. That's why I always remind people to enlarge it or use the download button to save it. Personally, I'd lose the droid - Just seems out of place to me, but who knows. We'll see what boardindude thinks. I PM the requestees with a link to the post to let them know a wallpaper is done for them. Sometimes they forget about a request so I advise you do the same.

I agree, about the droid. was "cute" when i threw the helmet on him, but when i was posting it up.... just screamed at me to get rid of it. i think i can improve it in other ways as well. just wait and see if the fan has some input, or images he wants to use.
quick question, how do you display the thumb sized image the way you do??? do you a separate resize for that?

In Picasa, When you're in your album the image is in, right click on the thumbnail, go to properties and copy the image location. Then just paste it in the Insert Image box here when you post. Hope that makes sense...

One other thing - If you don't want people to see all your other pics, you should make those albums private.
