Hi eyebeam.
I don't have a request for a wallpaper, but I want to say that your work is just absolutely terrific, and your dedication and good natured demeaner have made this thread a great read.
But most of all, your idea about donations to local food shelves.
That says a lot about you, and it's an honor to be a member here because of folks like you.
You truly are one of the good guys.
My wife and a I made a donation to a local food pantry, but not from us.
Hopefully with your approval, we made our donation with a note that just reads:
From eyebeam.
It's people like you who help to make what can sometimes be, to use your words a crappy day a bit better.
We're fortunate that we can donate to the pantry, rather than make use of it.
Sometimes a reminder of that is needed. Too many people in need of help, and your request
gave me that reminder. I sincerely thank you for that.
God bless you and yours.

Hi Jack.

Let me just say that this post really touched me. Getting posts like this mean more to me than you can know (or I can properly explain.) It now takes a place among the very nicest I've received.

That you took the time to do this, without even asking for anything for yourself, warms my heart, and speaks highly of the type of person you are. I thank you, and I'm sure the folks you've helped thank you as well. If there ever is anything I can do for you, please let me know - It'd certainly be my pleasure.

I'm not a particularly religious man, but God bless you as well. My best to you and your family.

@ XstitchCowgirl

Hey - I'm having some trouble figuring out just what size the wallpaper for the Galaxy Note 2 should be. Lots of conflicting info. If you would, could you try out each of the following wallpaper sizes and let me know which works best? TIA.

Don't have my note 2 yet, so can't try it. But these are the specs:
1,280 x 720

Hmmm... Ok. The problem I'm having is that I don't know if the SGN2 uses a scrolling wallpaper (in which case the wallpaper needs to be larger than the screen resolution), or whether it handles wallpapers like a phone or a tablet (there's a big difference.)

What I'll do is post in the SGN2 section, and see if someone there can hopefully help me figure it out. If not, I may have to put this one on hold until you get it.

See, that's what I would think. Thus, with the same screen resolution as the SGS3, I'd think the SGN2 should use the same wallpaper size of 1440x1280. But, the majority of info I could find recommended 1600x1280 or 1920x1280.

So, I'd rather know which is right to avoid having to re-do the whole thing because I guessed wrong.

Thanks NA - Didn't know that the SGS3 didn't scroll. That's very useful to know. I've been assuming it did (and composing wallpapers for it as if it did) because of the wallpaper aspect ratio. Guess it's like your Rezound, in that it needs to be the larger aspect ratio to properly crop it to single screen size. Thought that was mostly an HTC thing... Still probably best to make 'em fill the whole wallpaper since so many users use an alternate launcher that may allow scrolling. I'll just keep in mind that things should pretty much stay centered in a 720px band.

Man! These were a lot easier to do when all Androids used the same 640x480 wallpaper size...

@ XstitchCowgirl

So, I've been trying to figure out the best way to replicate the look you want, and I think I've got it. Since this is going to be a fairly long, tedious process, I thought it best to check with you to make sure I'm on the right track. Take a look at this and let me know if that's the look you wanted.

If it is, great - I'll keep at it.

Yes! Loving it

So a rose with stem/leaves. Just want to make sure you can see the stitches well, compared to size of rose.

Thanks

Hmmm... good point about the stitches showing up on a Note sized screen. May have to try to make 'em larger, though I'm not sure it will still look rose-like if I do. I experiment with it some more.

And just to be sure here - you just want a rose and some vines & leaves? No border scroll stuff or hearts etc. like this?

@ XstitchCowgirl

Alright, here you go (finally! ). Let me know if I got the right look and what you think.

Preview only ↓ - Do not save

To save at full 1440x1280 resolution - Follow the link bellow and long press the image on your phone until the save option pops up, Then find it in your photo gallery and set as wallpaper. If it looks fuzzy, you may be better off viewing it from a computer, right click and "save as", and finally transferring it to your phone via USB or email.

You're welcome!

The size is 1440 wide by 1280 high, and the rose is somewhat smaller than the height. I think that should look good on the SGN2 - but if when you get the new phone it doesn't, let me know and we'll see what adjustments need to be made. Fair enough?

Well, the Note2's screen will be 720 wide x 1280 high in portrait view. Some of that height will be taken up by the dock on the bottom and status bar up top. I think the rose will take up a pretty good portion of the screen real estate. Again, if when you get the SGN2 you feel adjustments need to be made, just get back to me and I'll see what can be done.

Edit: For reference, here's a quick mock-up of what it should look like. This leaves a little room at the top for a weather/clock widget or a row of icons. Should look nice, I'd say.

Hi EB! Wanna work your magic for me?
This pic is for the icons I'm using. I'd really like something with a denim background. Nothing fancy, I just can't seem to make it match the icons or even coordinate. I use just one screen non scrolling. (And I'm in no rush)

Hi eyebeam! Is there anyway you could pull this wallpaper just from these pictures of the new HTC J Butterfly? I have a Galaxy Nexus and the wallpaper resolution is 1440x1280. Completely understand if you can't since this is just a release picture, thanks!

Yikes! Toughie. Ok, so there's no way I can grab it from the small screenshots available and blow it up that large. Trust me here - that would look quite cr@ppy. So I'm going to try to recreate it for you. The only thing that's going to be tough is the sweeping lines. Not sure how I'll pull those off (or if I can do it well...)

Anyway if I can do it, you want the mostly black, with red accents one, right?

No worries eyebeam. I totally don't want to bother you with this if it is too much trouble. But yes, I was eyeing the black / red one. Again, no worries, was just throwing my thoughts out xD

Ok, got it. And it's no problem to give it a shot at least...

I should be able to get to it sometime tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.

@ Ngo93 -

Well, I worked on trying to recreate that wallpaper for quite a bit, and I don't think I can quite get it. Surprisingly, getting the sweeping lines wasn't the problem. I couldn't get the gradient effects the right shades without severe banding.

I hate to give up on one, but I'm afraid this one has got me stumped. Sorry. Hopefully someone will post the real wallpaper soon. I'll keep my eye out and let you know if/when I find it.

Is this for an iPhone 5?

Edit: Ok, I'm going to assume that it must be (what else could it be for, right?) so, see if this works for you -

I have no idea how best to save this to an iPhone. Just make sure you get it on there in full 640x1136 resolution.

eyebeam,

Your stuff is amazing. I finally got through every post and you have really gone above and beyond. I do have one small request. A St. Louis Cardinals wallpaper would be great. No ideas to give you, I will trust your creative side. Thanks in advance if possible. Its for a Galaxy S3.

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it!

Hmmm. Creative free reign, eh? Ok, I'll see if I can come up with something cool for you.

Not sure I'll get to it today, but if not, I should have some time to do it tomorrow.

Hey EB. I have a request if you have time. I've been going through a lot and am feeling a little dark. Think you can give me something a little Gothic? Not too cliche or flashy though. You know me. Plain and simple does just fine.

Thanks bud.
