It is my understanding that both are based on “update_spi20111102.zip” version but you could also apparently use “update_spi20111028_all_2.3.zip” from the above download. The extraction to “spi_M3_256.bin” is the same.

You get “spi_M3_256.bin” from the MyGica site, MyGica Enjoy TV productos para Television Digital | Android TV | Smartv | WebTv | Multimedia,

Download UBoot and recovery for 1102 and 1104 firmware from the left hand icon and the 1102 firmware from the centre icon.

The UBoot and recovery file downloaded is named “update_spi20111102.zip”

The download from the centre icon is called Mygica_update20111102.zip. This has Android 2.3 Gingerbread plus the working “You Tube”

Unzip “update_spi20111102.zip” and you will find a number of zip files. The ones that we need are:

uboot_M3_256.img
uboot_M3_512.img
uboot_M3_512F.img

One of these will match your machine.
uboot_M3_256.img is for the ATV300
uboot_M3_512.img is for ATV1000-2000
uboot_M3_512F.img is for ATV1000-2000 with a label underneath something like XXV2XXXXX512.

Simply select the correct “uboot” file and rename it to “spi_M3_256.bin”. (Note that this renaming may not be technically correct but will save you having to remember to change the keying in when you get to it)
hello friends.
I went back.
I found the right wire,
and now I have the correct connection to the device.
I tried and it's almost good. but there is an error message:

For which the process of stopping. I need your help. What should I do to fix this?

It is best to keep the flash that is installed with the image, because it performs much better than any other that you install. The problem however is that in the UK at least, that BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, 4OD, and YouTube Shows don't work with this version of flash. If you uninstall the one that comes with the image, you can then install one that will work with these sites, (latest market version) however, the quality is really poor. The main problem is with stuttering and glitching sound. I have decided to keep to the one with the image. There are plenty of other ways to watch catchup tv, just ashame I can't do it with this device, if I could it would be complete!

Default unbricking question

As some may now i am another guy that bricked his ATV2000, ...

Independently if I use Putty or Teraterm the response after powerup or reset is:

Firmware start at: 0x000098d6
RSLR0=00000249 RDGR0=00000249
Stage 00 Result 00000000
Stage 01 Result 00000000
Stage 02 Result 00000000
Firmware started, now starting u-boot...
0x12345678
Boot From SPI0x12345678
Enter Exception:0x00000001
0x8f036020

also independently if there is an sd card with whatever data is inserted or not.

according to the two "unbrick step by step instructions" that i know there should be a much longer response...

any ideas?

The flash player that is shipped with the firmware has been modified to use the hardware acceleration built into the device. That works fine for most non protected content, but iPlayer etc. is DRM'ed. It would probably need Adobe themselves to provide hardware support for this chipset to make them work correctly. The bad news is that Adobe are dropping support for Flash, so I wouldn't hold your breath expecting it to happen.

i have the same issue with the "online update", it finds new version, download, reboot, installs but when u check is the old version and it suggest to update and repeat the process. hope in future this option will be in working order.
and i still have issue with the display position. each time i start it, the display shifts a bit to left or right, up or down, not much but to enough to hide the white line. so every time i start the box, i position the display. cant it remember the position somehow??
the rest seems to be ok for now.

Wink Font size of subtitles film in video player could change easily

I have updated the latest Enjoy TV New Android 2.3 Firmware Version.20120111. Everything is fine. It is no longer lagging anymore during using air mouse to control the app.

But one thing should improve about videoplayer apk,its font size of subtitles film should be changed any size you want (maybe the maximum > 50 ). Because the current maximum size is only 30, too small to watching it on big Screen TV.

Thanks,
ZZ

I have been tying to get my unit reflashed/repaired but I cannot get the STV# up. Any Ideas as to how?

As I understand, once you have #STV up on the screen, you have access to the chip and you can start the repair process and reflash the various bits and pieces as per the previous posts. Anyway that is what I would/will do if I can get the #STV up.

Further, as I undersatnd it, the process and the subsequent updtaes will fix up your current error.

BTW could you post the way you have set up your wiring, ie Rx Tx & Pos Earth.

I note the Russian site uses a 3 wire system Rx Earth TX

@enviro8

regarding wiring:
There is a pinout of the connector on the ATV200 at the KGD-Team website.
I only use RXD, TXD and GND.
On the "other side" I use a "USB to TTL cable" with FTDI chipset and I connect
1.) RXD from ATV to TXD of TTL cable (connect receive with send)
2.) TXD from ATV to RXD of TTL cable (connect send with receive)
3.) GND from ATV to GND of TTL cable

after setting up the terminal program at my PC (e.g. putty) i switch on my atv and then i instantly get "responses" from my atv on the terminal window. unfortunately it does not get to the #STV line but stops somewere before and i don't have the possibility to enter any commands (see my post above).

i don't know if that answers your question...

You must have to interrupt the boot process.
Hit any key to stop autoboot immediately after power on.

If you write some other U-boat then you have now only a nice box.
You don't have tools to program the flash. They are usually available only for the box manufacturer from the flash chip manufacturer. Software is confidential.
TTL line pins connection is only for debug or operations on U-Boot command line (based on present U-boot). To rescue U-boot you must use UART interface on pcba.

Look at my log from rescue ATV300:
Code:

How program SPI chip you can find on that forum:
ICONBIT.RU • ???????? ???? - ?????????????? Toucan W ????? ????????? ????????

Description begins with the words "ВНИМАНИЕ!" - please use google translator.
There is a schematic of the programmer and the method of how to upload SPI to FlashRom.

FlashRom programmer app SPIPGM.ZIP ver. 1.9c:

as fun as unbricking sounds like it might be, i've only had it for a few days so i'll see if i can get a replacement for a DOA... lol i was following the actual instructions from geniatech so i figure if they could actually write better instructions or made a better way to update the box i wouldnt end up in the mess ... so im gonna return it they can reflash it n sell it to someone else it would probably take them about 5 mins .. just have to hope they'll replace it for me.. hehehehe (yes yes in the end it was my fault for forgetting etc... )

I bought a cheap UVC enabled webcam on ebay (Only £3.90 delivered) and it works, Only one problem, the mic is through a seperate jack not the USB so no sound unfortunately. Skype video works and it works as a webcam.

Possible re-brand of Genaitech player by Sumvision, what makes this interesting is the TV UI screenshot (assuming it's not faked) it has a media center interface which other Geniatech boxes lack. It has Amlogic chipset and also has the same Android logo from Geniatech recovery menu.

I wonder could you extract the alternate launcher from it and use it on other boxes.

from there support page: very interesting!!

Can I Play BBC iPlayer?

Unfortunately the player is not optimised to play BBC iPlayer. While you will be able to view programs, playback is very slow

Also my box has a media ui, also Im sure all Geniatech do its an option to use main app or launcher when you start

The Genaitech will do the same if you put in an official version of the flash player rather then the modified one supplied with the firmware.

I am having trouble coming to grips with the ttl interface of the TV box and the wiring requirements.

There have been posts on this site and other sites that refer to 3 wire and 4 wire connections but the connections described are contradictory.

I need some guidance.

Below is a diagram of the connector that I believe is the ttl connector on my ATV 1000

side with opening
|o o o o|
|1 2 3 4|

My AT1000 has the above, sorry for the poor diagran

From the kgdteam at KGDTeam • Ver Tema - Recovery por RS232 los Mygica ATV300 - ATV1000 - ATV2000

1 is 3.3 V
2 is Earth
3 is Tx
4 is Rx

All are connected.

From the Russian site ICONBIT.RU • ???????? ???? - ?????????????? Toucan W ????? ????????? ????????

1 is Rx
2 is Ground
3 is Tx
4 is not connected

Or

1 is Tx
2 is Ground
3 is RX
4 is not connected

Now apparently these are both for the ATV 300. Are the same for an ATV 1000?

Further I have a 3 pin socket next to the 4 pin socket on my ATV 1000. Has this got anything to do with the unbricking of my unit?

sides with opening

|o o o ||o o o o|
|1 2 3 ||1 2 3 4|

Thanks for any assistance!

Default Android 4.0 preview version for ATV

please note: this preview version is a trial version only, for the person like me who want to taste the ICS first. And take your own risk to upgrade, I suggest if you don't have serial cable, don't try this upgrade.

Note: This preview version don't support HiDTV yet, nor Google market.

I gave it a go on my atv1000. There seems to be no way to adjust the resolution, the bottom bar takes up a third of my screen, settings will crash if you click certain options (like storage). No market and I tried to root it with z4, but no luck.

I took the plunge and tried it, the upgrade went through quite happily and the basic feature work and look good, but its way too buggy to be usable, half the apps fail to load, wifi doesn't connect reliably, apps crash, power off never actually power's off, flash doesn't work etc. etc. etc.

It may look nice, but I'd strongly recommend holding off any upgrade until a non beta release.

It's a useless app cause it's full of bugs.
Just read the Reviews on Market!

RootCheck reports that it is not rooted, pity.

As I understand it Z4 does not work with ICS. A ICS root app may work.

I think that ICS has great promise, unfortunately it is too much a phone release at present.

No market, no flashplayer and therefore no You Tube, video streaming etc., almost invisible cursor. HIDTV audio works but not the video so it could be a flashplayer issue.

And as reported, the only way to turn it off is to unplug it.

I have a currently bricked ATV 1000 clone that I am trying to unbrick, an MyGica ATV1000 that I am using and experimenting with and last Friday I received an Enjoi ATV 2000.

The ATV 2000 came with all the cables (including a HDMI cable) and stuff as well as a HDTV USB dongle with its detatchable indoor mini antenna.

It came with Android 2.3 loaded and 20111102 firmware and its associated apps.

I am currently checking out the ATV 2000 performance.

It was quite difficult to boot up initially and impossible with the HDTV dongle inserted.

The dongle works well with an external antenna and picked up all 26 channels where I live.

The only problem that I have experenced so far other than the booting, was that the TV box froze on occasions when watching TV, the TV froze and the TV box froze and I had to unplug and reboot.

This occurs from 40 minutes to 2 hours after starting to watch.

The HDTV dongle appeared to be a standard USB dongle so I tried it in my PC but although recognised and identified, I could not find any drivers for it (Yet!).

Addendum: Now found drivers on Geniatec web site and workin well on my PC.

So I then tried it with the ATV 1000 and HIDTV 1.9.2 and it worked flawlessly without stopping or freezing the unit.

So what is the difference between an ATV 1000 and an ATV 2000, to me its the mini HDTV USB dongle.

It appears to be a Geniatec S119 mini DBV-T TV Stick. So all you have to do is to plug in a S119 dongle and load up the latest HIDTV app to turn your ATV 1000 to an ATV 2000!

Since the ATV 2000 is regularly freezing with the dongle (and is difficult to restart) but not the ATV 1000, I suspect I may have a faulty TV box. I am currently trialling it and before making a decision to return it or not. (Addendum: The freezing of the TV box has been solved. It was heat related. I sat the unit on my amplifier due to access and space restrictions with the HDMI cable. When I swapped it to where my ATV 1000 was, no more problems.)

:/ I have some problem with updates.
In update 2011.12.28 HD in web Yutube and in Youtube app working excellent.
Update do 2012.01.11 crash HD in Yutube :/ gosh. Reset to default after upgrade bring nothing. Youtube app no playing HD. Its in all boxes.

Does anyone met with this problem? You can see in some way affects the order of upgrades to something. Something along the way is to get lost in the updates path.

Hi szemo77,
I met almost the same problem.
I mean after 2012.01.11 upgrade video HD in web Yutube (with display output set to 1080p) does not work smoothly ...
There is a little improvement if I set display output to 1080i
No problem with 720p display output resolution ...
I have a wi-fi n connection and maybe a bandwidth problem

There is no problem with wi-fi :/ The same problem is on ATV300, ATV1000 and new ATV510 box. So its firmware problem with youtube app. Web browser Youtube stream works good in HD.

Its not playing HD :/ on my box. When you hit Update app there is compilation 20120111.292744 to download. It's look like 2011.12.12 upgrade to show on CES how upgrade looks like.

Two nice apps: cache cleaner and wi-fi upload.
I installed the buid n. 20120111.163332 but the Update app don't find any new version. Where can I find the 2012011.292744?

2012011.292744 is the same like .16. They only test autoupdate app.

But there is new update for Mygica. 20120114.120248
http://www.4shared.com/zip/xg3kcvDa/update_20120114120248.html

faoit the problem is resolved. If the update does not include YouTube application, prepare a copy of the application from the last update 20120111 to SD card or USB. Using Rootexplorer copy the application to the /system/app.. dir and give the same permissions as are other files have.

Congratulations Youtube application runs now in HD.

Edit: Url for new upgrade up.
