I've just woken up to find that the game has been updated. The multitouch controls work well and you can now slide your finger along the virtual dpad rather than the old lift an press I had to do.
Good update Gamevil.

Really, I find it quite disappointing, the multitouch implementation is not working, like it should, buttons light up, but the game does not react e.g when żou push a stone. It's just a quick hack where attack overwrites movement, but movement doesn't overwrite attack and no other multitouch input works. If you press menu (upper right) while walking he will attack (lower right).
No trackball support, no touch support in the menu, no return key to close, no menu with the menu key...
The only thing the update changes is that you can slide to change directions.
It is a great sign, that they are working to improve the controls, but I still don't want to continue playing like this.

- Multitouch to improve control of the character
- Keyboard support for people who don't like touch screen sensitivity
- Speed option for those who wanted to adjust framerates for better control
Game is available on all paid markets, and you have to have a 1.6 device or above.
We didn't really feel like it was a good game to play with the trackball, so wasn't implemented.

I'm not understanding why you think it is not a good game for trackball. Please explain. I'm using the trackball with Gameboid playing A Link to the Past and The Minish Cap and it works great. I think the trackball is the preferred method with a game like this. You can also use the accelerometer to control the character with Gameboid (though only for left and right).
Hmmm... That sucks. Im running 2.1 Eris but it still wont show up in the market. Since Eris is a1.5 device AND since it is being discontinued it most likely will not get updated. Will I ever be able tp play this on my eris? Please let me know so I can stop wasting my time searching for it if I will never be able to play it. Thank you.
- ZENONIA Free is now available on the Android Market. For those you haven't picked up the title yet, now try before you buy.
Just downloaded the free version, very impressed with the gameplay so far. As I'm on a fairly low end 1.5 android phone I'm very happy it actually works!
This is a very stupid question I know, but the free version is a limited demo, right? The product description wasn't very clear...

Yes, it is a limited demo. Thanks for your feedback.
Thanks for the clarification I'm still a newbie to android so was wondering why it wasn't called 'lite'.
Will definitely buy now though.
We've seen companies using "Lite", "LE(Lite Edition)" and "Free", and chose to use "Free" to be consistent across other platforms. Just a sales decision.
You published too many Iphone games... ;-)
Free means nearly the complete game is in, usually this is used with ad-supported games.
Lite is a stupid description, that someone at Apple forced down developers throats, because they forbid the word demo.
You should just call it Zenonia Demo, because a horse is a horse, of course of course.
Hopefully as the Sprint Evo and other phones start to roll out soon you guys will see its worth it to release stuff mulitiplatform from the start. The Droid Market needs more dedication now that it has the hardware to handle and beat the iphone.
Update request: Let us map the keys...please...for the love of all that's right...I'm on the droid and am getting a game gripper soon, and I think that that would be AWESOME to play with but we need to be able to map the keys to do so.
I agree the game is great, thanks for bringing it over. Hopefully soon we will start to get games the same time as the Iphone now that the hardware is getting out there.

We're doing catchup now, and trying to reduce the launch gaps as soon as possible. Hopefully the launch dates will line in next year.

Movement of trackball could control movement and pressing it down could be action. Another approach might be to use the accelerometer for movement...

there are 4 people in this topic that specifically want controls that aren't available and around 10 posts about the controls. I think all of this is accomplished by letting us map the keys ourselves.
I love the game, so please take this as constructive criticism not me just attacking you.
I think above all else, you need to implement a system where the save games go to the SD card. Every time I install a new ROM, I lose my game and any backup I make with Titanium Backup just force closes when I go to restore it. This is a huge flaw in the game and for those of us that like to install a lot of ROMs it's a huge pain to have to replay the game.
As everyone else I want to be able to map the buttons as well. I have a Game Gripper on order Of course the black versions will be shipping out later since they are apparently held up by Customs at the moment (according to the faq on the Game Gripper site). But those of you who choose gray will most likely have yours shipping out tomorrow.
I am hoping a lot of games start to allow custom mapping.

I just changed my firmware last week, had no problem with backing up Zenonia, my save still works.

Are you using Titanium Backup? I haven't had it work a single time yet and I'm getting fed up with it. I've played to the same point probably five times now.
This is a very fun game especially since there is nothing like it on android. I highly recommend it for action RPG fans. Quests can get a bit repetetive though and a bit too cutsie for my taste, but that is personal preference.
