Default [APP] Battery charge in the status bar. Fast. Simple. Beautiful.

Battery indicates the battery charge level of your device.

Battery is a small, sleek and elegant app that will help you to follow the current battery percentage on your Android device.

With Battery, every time and everywhere you will know if your battery is charged enough to play a game, a movie, or to browse the web.

There is no other battery app with such intuitive, neat and gorgeous interface as Battery has. The UI of Battery is as simple as possible, but tremendously practical.

We will work constantly to improve Battery, adding in the very near future new features, like useful battery optimization tips, battery voltage, battery temperature and many, many more.

* FEATURES
✓ Displays battery information in percent (%)
✓ Offers quality support for Android devices - from Android 1.5 to Android 4.0.3
✓ Full support for all known screen resolutions
✓ Power source indicator
✓ The precise battery level is displayed in 1% increments
✓ Battery is incredibly lightweight!

Comments and suggestions are always appreciated. Thank you.

this is definitely not an attack by any means so dont take this the wrong way but whats the point of this app? what's wrong with the stock battery icon on the top right? Now we'll have two battery notification icons in the status bar?

I see the benefit. That icon is a bit small to be of any real use. Can you look at that icon and tell the difference between 78% charge and 65%? I know I put a battery charge indicator on one of my screens for that exact reason. I can now delete it. The date also ought be on permanent display, just in MM/DD (or DD/MM) format, in the status bar instead of having to pull it down to see it.

You can't tell the difference, because the stock battery icon goes down by 20% every time. You can tell the difference between 100-80-60-40-20

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

Although I've been using "Battery indicator" for long, and does the same.

Yes it does the same, but in the near future we'll add a lot of new features to Battery. Moreover, we saw more than 10K downloads in the first 24 hours of its launch and we think that Battery Indicator soon will have a strong competitor.

I will gladly use it instead of indicator when it:

- Shows me since when it is unplugged
- Shows what charge level it has been discharging from (if you charge it to 45% and unplug, it will say it is discharging from 45%)

*Suggestion*

- Different colors for the notification bar. 100-50% (green), 50-25% (yellow) 25-5% (red) 5-1% (red pulse) (of course this should be optional)

These are what make the indicator so useful, although I liked the estimated time to deplet/recharge the battery.

Would you mind explaning how that's done? How often are those numbers refreshed?

It is not a fixed number. It is a manner of what your are doing with your device at the very moment and then after 1 to 3 percents are depleted, it is calculating at this rate of usage how much time do you have to fully deplete the battery.

No problem mate.

I really liked this app, and I'm making all my friends get it too. I even sent you an e-mail with those notes, in case you wouldn't come back here.

If you could implement those into the app, it'd be perfect.

As for the calculation, I thought it would be refreshed everytime the screen was turned on, and each 15/30 minutos while in stand by mode.

I'm happy with "Battery Status Text", can put percentage anywhere, any size, any color:

Now if your widget overroad the 5% drops on my Galaxy Player and reported 1% drops, THAT would be a nice app.

We've just released version 1.1 of Battery!

What's new:
- We've made a huge optimization. The background service now consumes only 3.1 MB of memory instead of 30 MB
- Fixed Android 1.5 layout issues
- Fixed a crash when Dutch localization is used
- Added a link to Usage statistic screen on Android 2.3 and newer
- The widget is coming in version 1.2

Glad to see you're working on it.

But about those suggestions I made, any chance they will be implemented any soon?

I'm very proud to announce that Battery made 100K downloads in just 7 days! So thanks to all of you guys!

There is very small chance to implement this, because of numerous problems. One particular is to raise the size of the app with nearly 30%.

We liked those suggestions and will start working on them after version 1.2 is deployed.

Sorry, just tried it, goes from 35 to 30 to 25... nothing different than system or any other widget. Also notification text is black, not too readable on a black pulldown background (which my Player has).

I also have my screens at full-screen, so don't see the notification bar. Needs widget (if it actually did 1% increments).

I'm looking at mine right now, and it's at 93%. Maybe the update does what you say, I'll have to try it.

That's on a Galaxy Player 5.0? All devices are different some are 1%, 5% and 10%. I've tried at least 8 Battery widgets, all drop per system readings (5%), until it hits 5%, then it goes to 3% then 1%, then dead.

I tried it and ended up uninstalling it. Moto Droid 3 goes in 10% increments only. Went back to having battery info on my 'make your clock' widget, same info and I don't have to pull down to see it.

Works fine in Galaxy S.

The time estimate is well done also, it was only 2 minutes off.

It seems that Battery needs further testing on Exhibit II, but have you tried to start the app from the notifications button?

Thanks to all of you for the suggestions and the critique. You are in great help to make Battery the best app in this niche.

Version 1.2.1 of Battery has been released!

What's new:
- Finally added a widget. Actually two! A small one and a big one.
- The next major update (1.3) is coming in less than two weeks!

We are working on this problem. It will be solved in the next major version, we hope.

That might not really be a problem per se. Plenty of apps across many platforms require you delete old versions before installing new versions. As long as you advise folk of that, you're covered.

Is it possible to replace the stock battery in the status bar on an unrooted phone?

I also agree with Kicksilver about the different colors for the notification bar. That would be the convincing factor for me to choose this app over others. I really hope it can be implemented.

Also, can you please provide the app .apk to download for those who can't access the Android Market?

I really liked the widget, nice job.

ps: after updating, you have to run it manually for the notifition to be shown on the bar... Maybe an auto-run setting after updating?

ps2: really looking forward to my two main tips

I'm very interested in finding a way to have the battery percentage displayed in the notification bar (preferably superimposed in front of the battery icon), but I am such a newbie to Android that I simply don't know where to find this.

Can anyone point me to the right place? When I search for "battery" in the Android Market I come up with what seems like dozen of widgets (which I don't want), and I can't find this specific app.

TIA,
Katherine

Finally found your app in the marketplace, sheesh there are a lot of others!

Is there any chance you could superimpose the percentage number in from the the existing battery icon? Save on precious real estate in the notification bar. Otherwise it is exactly what I was looking for!

I see you fixed the auto-start issue, thanks.

Now, the only thing missing is the initial charge level, and how long it's been outta charge.

Then, it will be perfect, and you won't even need to update this anymore.

Would you be willing to implement some of my suggestions?

Your app is wonderful, I'm installing it into every Android that comes in my hands, and they're loving it.

You ask for three different colors for the notification bar and one pulsation, and if we do this, the size of the app will double, and even triple.

About these two:
"- Shows me since when it is unplugged
- Shows what charge level it has been discharging from"

We should rearrange the interface to put this info. Maybe it will happen in the 1.5 update. BTW, 1.4 comes tomorrow, it will fix the size issue with the digits on Ice Cream Sandwich devices.
