Default can 1 app access another?

Hi. Still developing my app for my college project and im just about finished. Once I ironed out the errors (mainly user :P ) I was cracking on no problem. Anyway, is there any way of accessing one app from another? I will explain. My app is centred around helping the motorist change a wheel for the spare in the event of a flat tyre, ive done this by a simple step by step walkthrough with pics and instructions over about 7 steps. To make my app more exciting I would like to add the option where at the end the user can access Google maps and find the nearest location of local tyre fitters to take their flat tyre to be fixed at the press of a button, as opposed to exiting my app and opening Google maps seperatley.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks

i would recommend you, to read an android dev book :-)

i know that apps from the same developer (identified by a id or something) can access each other. but i think google maps can be used more than that. but how... no idea :-)

Read the forums and tips section in the App inventor. I was reading yesterday and saw that there is a way to do this but it is a little more difficult than just a single app but this can be done.

You can do it with the Activity Starter, but it has limitations compared to SDK. Check out my project Activity Starter & Intents, I have a lot of actions documented. You might find what you need. I have added a section specifically for Google Maps. I'll be adding an activity to create a street view dat. Let me know if you need any help.

Good luck!
