Hello everyone,
Today, I finally released my first serious application for Android. Fractal Explorer allows you to explore Mandelbrot fractal and discover amazing patterns.
Features:
- zoom up to 2^42 scale
- 11 color schemes to choose from
- high quality, smooth coloring
- 2 rendering modes: low quality for exploring (very fast rendering) and high quality for presenting full glory of the fractal
- innovative, easy to use Glass Pane interface
- generating fractal wallpaper
- save the cool places you find for later
- 12 predefined Cool Places to get you started
- uses native code for improved performance
- makes use of the capabilities of Cortex A8 based processors to achieve x4 faster rendering speed.
At the moment, I think this is the only such application that can make use of the power of Cortex A8 CPUs (those found on Droid/Milestone, Nexus One, Galaxy S and numerous other phones). And believe me, the difference in speed is very noticeable. My Milestone running at 550 MHz and using optimized code beats HTC Desire (1 GHz) running ordinary native code.
