Default What monetizing method is more common in Android Market?

Hi nice developers,

I have read couple of blogs about how to monetize on Android Market and of course I have found many companies offering monetizing SDKs. But I could not get any conclusion on the dominating method to make money on apps in android.

Are Admob or Adsense any good? What is the favorite method of developers to make money?

This is an older post, but you might find some info here: Monetize Your Applications

We've an application development section, you might get a better response there. Would you like me to move the post for you?

What I mean is, "What is wrong with Android Market?"

It is related to the thread in that you are asking for alternatives to something that works perfectly well, and I want to know what you think the problem is with Android Market.

EDIT: I think you're getting your terms mixed up. There are no options to monetize in Android Market - it is itelf a monetisation platform, ie a shop. https://market.android.com/

I did not mean something was wrong with Android market.

What I meant was what are the most common tools/tactics that developers use for making money on Android Market. I know it's a shop, but you can have a paid application there, or you can have a free one and use other ways for making money. Statistics show that most of the apps are free on Android Market and there are many claims are there that the money from Admob is way bellow developer's expectation. Yet there are more and more applications delivered to the market, and developer's are willing to keep on. So I'd like to know more in depth about their motivation and ways of making profit.

I am actually doing a research on the Market and App Store and my concentration is on developers' opinions on their pros and cons. So if you have any idea about my question, or even you think something can be improved in Android Market, or any other opinion .. I would be more than happy to hear you

And I think you are right, my question was a bit vague. thanks for the comment.

We have both paid and free apps available. Great Little War Game is just about making enough money to run our tiny company on and is a paid app only.

We have both paid and free versions of Yachty Deluxe on the store too. The adverts version is making a little more money, but I still can't help feel we're getting ripped off with how much we're getting paid for them and either option has a way to go yet before it's even in profit. Despite being an award winner!

I think it depends on the size and quality of your game as to what is going to pay better, but you should put out a paid version anyway - it doesn't cost you anything if you get no sales.

I wouldn't get too excited about so called freemium either. You have to have a really compelling game to make money that way. And you also need the right sort of game - there's a rash of inappropriate titles trying to make money in freemium and I'll bet they're making nothing at all.

?

AdMob are well known to be the worst. I've talked with several people on the subject of in-app advertising and to a man they all only use AdMob for backfill when better providers don't have an ad ready.

I only have one application with ads and I have yet to extensively test the others, I just liked the ease of acess given by admob, its very easy to use and implement.

They all are. You should look at the AdWhirl SDK (free) which makes them all as easy to install as admob by itself.
