Default Review process on Android Market?

As an Android developer, would you prefer if there was a review process in Android Market (same as the one on App Store) to have an increase in the quality of apps?

Default Review process

Reviews of apps would be great. Almost like a "Game Informer" for the Android Market

It wouldn't help the quality, sadly.

Apple routinely pass utter shite through as well. They're just checking there's nothing like racism, porn or anything else that might get them into trouble.

But if it did help the quality then I'd be well up for it. Maybe increasing the developer sign up fee to a couple of grand would help.

A couple of grand might be a bit much, but Google could raise the $25 it is now if they wanted to get more quality apps.

Considering this sentence that I have found on a weblog, don't you think it's better if Android continue the same system instead of increasing the barrier to entry? It can provide more opportunity for you if you have a quality app. No?

"I'd go as far as to say that a polished, high quality product is more likely to be embraced on Android than on iOS because the quality bar on the android market is so pathetically low [...] I think the lack of competition makes quality apps really stand out, and generates a lot of enthusiasm from app-starved android users."
