Default assets error

i've been getting the following error:

invalid resource directory name assets /Money Converter/res line 1 Android AAPT Problem

when i navigate to the res > assets folder. it says it's empty. odd to me because the problems tab tells me there is the problem.

thanks for reading, even more thanks if got a solution. if need more info, just let me know.

The assets folder doesn't go in res. It goes in the same folder that res is in.

Your problem is that R.java isn't building. R.java doesn't build when there's an error in your res folder, which in this case is the presence of assets.

i decided to delete the project completely ( wasn't a big deal, small script and it was a good test for me about how much i knew of rebuilding it). after rebuild the app didn't error anymore.
- i went deeper into the naming of elements. this might have been the problem, we will never know .

thx for helping
