Default Development with cyanogenmod

Hello !

Me and some other IT students are about to start developing an application which allows to modify the speed of the CPU.
Our teacher advised us to use cyanogenmod, because it allows such modification. So I wanted to know: is there a special development kit for cyanogenmod ? Or extra librairies to use the things it allows ? Or is it the exact same development kit as standard android ?

Thank you !

CyanogenMod is just a ROM. It uses the same Android SDK as any other ROM would. For the application you want to make, it should be noted that in order for your app to work, the device needs to be rooted--regardless of what ROM is on it. At any rate, to actually change the CPU, you will need to execute binaries in the Android system, so you will want to look at the Runtime class.
