Lightbulb Suggestions for game?

Hi!

Me and 2 of my friends are currently studying computer science (MsC), and have decided to make an android application this fall (project, yey!). We have decided to make a game, but our creativity is not what it once was.

So, if you got any game ideas of games YOU certainly would've played, but are not capable to make, this is your big chance! Throw any suggestion at us, they will all be considered.

Don't let anything limit your suggestions. We are (somewhat) experienced java developers, and are up to the challenge. Multiplayer, singleplayer, platform, action, you name it, only your mind is the limit.

If we decide to go for an idea here, we will of course post updates, and the person with the idea will get credit in the app, somehow.

I would give anything to be able to play Star Raiders on my phone. Figure out a way to port it and you will be my hero.

It's gonna take longer than a fall semester (provided you are still going to classes also lol) to make a quality game... Well... i guess if the game is simple enough you might be able to do it.

i think we need more online multiplayer games. that is what sets us behind the iphone. What the Doodle and Wordfeud are application gold in my book. despite the drain on battery life, i'd much rather loose to a real person rather than the computer.

I am actually in the design phase of a 3D fantasy MMORPG. Although actual development isn't planned start until December, my company is currently in the process of writing the storyline/character bios and getting all of the tools we need coded and setup. You can follow the process at Bonafide Software | Official site of Bonafide Software.

A game I would like to see ported to android, but I myself do not have the time right now to do it is Space harrier. It's an old game for the SMS and arcade. Very simple 2D game. Wouldn't be too hard at all.

Look:
space harrier [sit-down model] video game, sega enterprises, ltd. (1985)

Yeah, well we are starting the project this fall, and do have a deadline or anything, so if the development requires more time (and it probably will), we will postpone the release.

@tinynipples: yeah, that is my though also. Or, at least my experience . If the game itself wont have multiplayer, we will implement some sort of highscore system, which is sort of a middle thing.

We are not to fond of porting a game directly, but those suggestions are surely giving us some ideas! Keep em' coming

Suggestions made there include Sudoku, Lights Out, Twenty-Four, and virtually any card game. (Blackjack, for instance, is remarkably good at teaching its players what combinations of numbers add up to 21.)
