I came up with an idea for a great social-local-mobile networking app and am in the process of finding a developer (any takers?). I know what I want the app to do and know the technology is there, but my knowledge about how apps work only comes from using my own phone. I don't know about coding, hosting, etc. I am just a legal secretary with an idea.
My app would involve user profiles, would I need servers? I have no clue about the process involved in sustaining my app once it is launched. At this point I just want a working prototype of my app that can be tested and refined to present to potential VCs.
Any help on teaching me is greatly appreciated.
My app could be the next Big Thing (that is what I am aiming for) or fail miserably.

Can you give any more details about what your app would do? There are a ton of social networking apps out there. Would this be competing with Facebook and Google+?
