Default Gmail App Question (Looking to hire someone...)

Hey,

I'm sure I'm in the wrong spot, but thought this would be the most appropriate place.

Is it possible to pull Gmail messages from second Gmail account with an app? Completely separate from the Gmail app that comes with the phone. It would be for using a secondary Gmail account on the same phone. ( I realize you can do this with Gmail itself, but there is more to it with what I'd like to do...)

Anyways, first question was if it is possible. Second - I need to find a reputable and reliable developer to create it for me. Any ideas of who or where I should go?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hello Jonathan,

I hear you on not wanting to run both accounts through Gmail, I have problems with that as well. That said, you may not need to hire anyone for this. You can install any Android mail client that supports POP3 or IMAP protocols, and program it to access your second Gmail account. Looking quickly over the Android Market, K9 Mail looks like a pretty good bet: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fsck.k9&feature=search_result#?t=W2 51bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5mc2NrLms5Il0.

You may find a better app if you look around a bit, that's just the first reputable-looking one that popped up for me. You can also find straight-forward instructions for how to enable POP3 or IMAP access in Gmail here:

Would that work for you?

Steve
