Is it possoble to run a basic php webserver on an android phone (HTC desire), server pages only to the phone ??

What are you trying to accomplish? Is it that there's a php webapp that has functionality that you want on your phone? I used to run a Django/python/Apache webserver on my Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, I'm sure it can be done with Android somehow.

I've written a simple php script that I would like to run on my phone.
I don't need the 'web server' to server any other devices only mine !

I believe this is possible there is already a http server on the market maybe you can modify its source to add a php interpreter
