Default FOX News: force close

I agree with the other posters. Force close all the time. Didn't have the problem with my Droid. I like the app but can't believe that fox or whoever develops the app can't fix the problem. I am not interested in any other news app because only Fox gives the fair and balanced reporting that they pride themselves on. Who develops this app anyway. Is it Fox or a paticular app developer that Fox would sub out to? I can't believe I have to have 100 words before I can finish this posting!!

Agreed. Force closing is exactly how I would wish this particular app to function.

I've done some checking around and what I gather now is that Fox News has not released a Tablet style (android 3.x OS version) of their app.

The app available is the phone format app (or android 2.x) version. That one crashes on android 3.x (usually tablets).

Looking at my wife's other non android tablet device.. the Fox News app looks great over there. In looking for an Android tablet of my own (I wanted more flexibility than her device offers) the first thing I did is pull up the Fox News app and try it. Force-Closed. O initially I thought, "No problem. That was probably a fluke." But every android tablet on the table from various brands behaved the same way.

This left such a bad experience for me. If this app does not work, then I can't have an Android. And I left the store empty handed to do more investigating.

This is where I discovered the difference between 2.x apps typically for phone format and 3.x apps typically for tablet format. If you look at the Fox News app for android, it clearly does not have panels and is designed for just scrolling up/down like you would expect on a phone. It just is not the app for which I was looking.

Now... I wish I had been watching the Republican Debate live the other night, because I would have texted in the following question

I am happy to see Google and Fox teaming with such great success tonight. and showcasing how interactive the melding of TV and technology can be. But it seems ironic that this dynamic duo, the licensor for Android OS and the Fox News service, have yet to fill the void in Android tablet news apps? What's the deal?

But seriously.. why is there no Fox News tablet app for android?

For the people wanting the App to "force close" - Get back to the Park, your buddies miss you..... For the rest of us, back to work, somebody has to make the money.

I make 7 figures, do not remotely consider myself a liberal, but Fox News pushes the limits of "lying as news". During the Bush years, while I was in Europe (making money...) several TV providers had a disclaimer on Fox News, warning viewers it was a propaganda arm of the US Government... which it basically was until they turned on Bush like rabid kittens. Networks like MSNBC and FOX are entertainment networks. They're not the real deal. They're designed for liberals and conservatives who want to cling to their political Teddy Bears.
