Default AirDroid

Just found this app "AirDroid"
Was wondering if anyone else has been using this and if they have any thoughts, concerns or tips regarding.

Just starting to experiment with it.

I installed Airdroid last night and can see it's potential in some, not all of its features.

It would be much better if you could save the layout.

Does it allow you to save the contacts to the sd card?

One really good use I've found is its ability to install apps directly to device from .apk files stored on the PC providing you have allowed 'unofficial sources' on your device.

I use it on the rare occasion I need to move some to or from the phone so I don't have to have my cord. It works great. I just don't do a lot of cross connecting activities.

Default AirDroid

Hi:

I just came across Air Droid and installed it on my Droid Bionic, I was able to access the home screen of my phone on my desktop but was not able to access a screen shot of my phone on my computer screen, it requires root management permission app, it recommended Superuser. I installed Superuser but it did not give me access to the screen shot on the Air Droid app. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get this feature to work on Air Droid?

Thanks,

PhdGirl2015

Hey PhdGirl2015 .

Well, the Superuser app works in conjunction with another program called su which gives you the "root" privileges / access you a referring to. The Superuser app without the su binary won't get you root access--you have to go through a rooting process to get the su binary installed (that's always the tricky part to rooting).

I'm guessing the Airdroid is using a root exploit to do the screen capture for your Bionic. More recent versions of Android allow you to do these captures without having to have root access.

There is a non-root alternative for taking a screenshot that involves using the Android SDK (software development kit) via the ddms.bat utility [but that wasn't really your question ].

So, you'll have a little more work to do if you want to get this feature to work on Airdroid for the Bionic.

Hope that helps!

Just installed on my Optimus V. Is there a way to actually see the screen of the phone from the PC like a VNC viewer?
