Default Auto Memory Manager: A great solution to easy memory management.

The most important thing to note here is that this little wonder is for rooted devices only.

This app allows you to change the way your Android device looks at applications running in the background, without actually running in the background itself. Essentially you can select a limit for each layer of background process, if this limit is reached then your device will try to close apps within the respective layers and all of this is done by altering the internal memory manager already running on your Android device by default.

Using this app provides great performance boosts but it should be noted that it will not close every app. Apps such as those running on the notification blind or ones that are integral to the system will not be closed, this makes for a truly easy and simple experience.

The only problems I can find with this app are the app icon, that's it's only for rooted devices and that it needs to be re set on every reboot.
Otherwise it's extremely impressive and necessary for all root users.
