Default Archos Generation 9 Rumors

Archos Gen9 tablets, 1.6Ghz Dual-core, 3G, to be announced in June – ARMdevices.net
Archos has big plans for cheap tablets
Things that are essentially confirmed
  • 5, 7, and 10 inch form factors. I'm glad to see Archos recognizes the importance of there own 5 inch form factor
  • 3g Options
  • Dual Core 1.6ghz arms (Omap 4440)
  • Continued usage of hard drives and high capacity flash memory
  • Pixel Qi
  • Android 3.0
I'm glad to see Archos making a affordable devices with high capacity storage and dual core Arms and a true Archos 5 successor.

Default Windows 7

Those specs seem like they are for their windows 7 tablets. Archos offers windows tablets and it seems a TI 1.6 ghtz chip would better supports those.

I'm really hopeful for this thing on Android. I mainly want a tablet for media consumption, so Archos is an ideal manufacturer. The specs look great for anything I'll throw at it, and all that storage should handle my media beautifully. Built in MKV playback with subtitles would be ideal, as none of the Market options are adequate really

I heard about these. This time unlike the current generation where the 3 small ones have resistive screens. all will have capacitive. These are the new android tablets not windows. the windows isnt doing that great. no one really needs windows on a tablet. All the prices should stay the same, so look for a price drop in the current models to see when the new ones will show up. I feel like they will release in July or August. But the new competition will pick things up.
