Yea..I ordered on Thursday. I had them send it via the UPS 2-Day service. It actually shipped on Saturday, so I will get it on Tuesday.

damn! Im still waiting to hear from my Canadian friend who was "going to get them sooner than any other retailer"
Now im kinda bummed I didnt order directly. Hope he gets them today and gets them back out this afternoon.
REALLY would have liked to play with it during the holiday. REALLY...

Their site is showing them again......But just to be notified. I have sent like 4 notifies now with no email notice. How do you order one through them?

It's linux based, so it'll only read harddrives using the FAT file system. NTFS license is apparently expensive.

My 320Gig NTFS passport isn't recognized. But my 30Gig FAT usb case is ok.

There are people on the archosfans forum experimenting with EXT so they can load files bigger than 4gigs on their usb drives.

The 70 is available again on the Archos store page..just lettin ya guys know. Grab one now before they are gone again.

I got a 101 from Archos.com yesterday. THose of you who got in on the first batch, how long did it take to get a tracking number?

Ugh...had it in the cart. Couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger with a 7 day return policy tied to a 15% restock fee.

I think I need to buy from a third party.

I spent time at Bestbuy trying to test one.
They only had the home version.

And Im pretty sure the archos tablets do not have the android market place!

I ended up getting a Huawei ideos S7 to play with.

It seems pretty good so far.

AND....it has a slot ofr a 3g sim card.

Cool, my sim card out of my iphone works for making and receiving phone calls. the data does not.

The WIFI is kind of flaky in terms of it not auto reconnecting to my home network.

People, don't hold your breath. I chose standard shipping and my order got canceled. This is what I wrote to Archos:

To whom it may concern:

I recently ordered the Archos 101 16gb on Nov 22, 2010 and received an order confirmation immediately after my order. I had expected that it would ship within a few days as stated on your website that it takes 24-48 to process orders. I contacted customer service today and was informed that my order was cancelled because the item was out of stock. How was I able to order and pay for the item if it was out of stock? One should have been allocated for me automatically since I received an order confirmation. When I asked the customer service rep what she could do for me, I was informed that there was nothing she could do and that I would have to reorder probably next week. In my opinion, this is very poor customer service. Why are orders that are confirmed being canceled? Why not keep the order open and allocate the next available shipment to the individual with a confirmed order? A product is tied to good customer service. If the customer service is poor, in my opinion, this is not good for the future of a product. My time is valuable. I should not have to spend time to reorder an order that should never have been cancelled. By the way, I never received any notification, other than the conversation I had with customer service today, that my order had been cancelled. I would like a response from Archos and what they plan on doing to make this right. Thank you.
