Default Android keeps changing wifi settings incorrectly

I'm having an ongoing problem which manifests if my tablet is left to sleep for a certain amount of time. My wifi settings are set to static IP (gateway at 192.168.1.1 and other settings to suit) and it connects with no problem for all forms of internet use, but after sleeping for an amount of time I find it changes back to DHCP and defaults to 192.168.2.1 as well as other variations for gateway and DNS etc.

I then set it back to what it takes to work and, after sleeping, it reverts back at which point I have to change it again.

Has anyone else had this problem or, even better, does anyone know how to fix it?
