Default Possible to stop gmail calendar reminders?

I'm finding that gmail calendar reminders are forever draining the battery in my 10g2. Is there a way to stop them?

From the gmail app, menu --> more --> settings --> account settings (press your email account name) --> uncheck "email notifications" (next to bottom box).

ALSO, if you're running a custom ROM like Finless', go into Settings --> Accounts & sync and uncheck "auto sync."

They aren't email notifications though, these appear in the toolbar thing at the top of the screen. Will the first step still do the trick?

No. Not Gmail app. Go to your calendar app. From there, settings/reminders.
