Default Ready to take the jump... best/stable way of rooting for Froyo??

OK I've had my Aria for under a month now and I'm itching to root it so I can use Froyo and load a couple of boot animations I'm liking... Here's my issue... I've seen multiple methods of rooting, and I'm wondering which one will be the best and most efficient/stable way of doing so. Take into consideration I'm a novice at porting and I'm a prior BlackBerry junkie who's used to loading software on a device... Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the dark side

Unrevoked is by far the easiest way I've seen. You can find detailed instructions here:
NOOBZ: The EASY guide to rooting your Aria and Installing Attn1's ROM (Win XP/Vista) - xda-developers

The only way I know of to get Froyo on the Aria is to use Cyanogenmod. You lose Sense, but gain many customization options, and of course Froyo.

The HTC Aria arrived as AT&T's second Android handset, though many more have come in its wake. The mid-range device packs the full Android experience into a small package with a style that only HTC could achieve. The Aria's 3.2-inch tou... Read More
